I am planning on soaking up the rays in Florida this winter and I would like to CCW while I'm there.

Unfortunately my home state ccw is not reciprical with Florida, but I do have a non-resident New Hampshire ccw.

Does anyone know if the NH non-resident permit is accepted in Florida?

Anyone know if I can do this, or has anyone done this. I plan on flying to FL on a commercial airline.

Where can I go to find more info?

Unfortunately, it looks like you're out of luck since Florida (like my own state of Colorado :fire:) decided that "permit holder must be resident of the state they honor" thereby [struggling to think of a highroad word here...] preventing anyone from a no-issue state (e.g. IL, NJ, MD, etc.) from legally carrying in Florida on a non-resident permit.

Florida is a shall issue state including non-resident permits but do not recognize non-resident permits from any other state. You will have to get one from Florida and that can take up to 3 months. Jim.

It took me 42 days door to door once I mailed my app in.

Ordering the package, etting prints from the local police to send it to Florida;etc took about 2 months total. I hopped right on it when I wanted it!

Hi Romma

Did you just go down to the CT DPS for your Criminal History Report (or lack of)?

Do they charge for that?

They didn't ask for a report, I checked "no" on a box asking if I had been convicted of a felony or domestic violence charge... I also copied my Connecticut permit and my NRA basic handgun course certificate and sent them that as well...

I should have mentioned that you will need proof of firearms training for your Florida permit...
