I recently got most of my brand new re-loading room set up! From the recent NRA I bought 500 round nose 124gr from Berry's. Good price and free shipping. While re-loading these my Dear Wife got really interested. Perhaps you saw the post concerning this. Well their all gone. Now we're on the hunt for more. I had cast a lot of 9's years ago that I never lubed or sized but their more .380ish since their 95gr. Side note, they have developed a "coating" that doesn't just rub off and since then the newer guns we have bought are not really what I want to shoot wheel weights through. Back to this thread. Do you guys like a flat nose or round? These are target loads for 2.5" to 6" barrels. I want to buy around 1,000 to 3,000. since there looks like Labor Day sales are still out there. We both seem to like a 124gr. If you got a place look or perhaps a savings code to share I promise to be your next best friend. It seems like most of what's out there is a round nose for the 9's? I'd like to be in the .07 or less if possible. Thanks THR! Midsouth Shooters has a pretty nice sale. Hollow points. Did not think I'd find them in my price range. Anyone got a code for them?

Will have to second that!!!

I bough a ton of plated bullets when an online supplier went out of business so I'm still good for a little while but once those are gone I will be ordering from RMR.
Also sounds as if you may need a 380! Unless you want to part with some of that lead.

I'm currently using the plated FMP 124 FP. Well satisfied with them.

But my favorites are full jacketed 115 grain RN, so I'm always on the look out for good prices on them.

OP, I shoot WWI and WWII vintage firearms and all my 9mm and 380acp firearms favor RN projectiles. FN is not recommended. On a personal note, FN projectiles just don't look right to me. o_O

124gr flat nose (flat point?) is one of my favorite cast bullets to load, and they shoot great. I get them from a guy who's on castboolits forum and goes by the handle CASTING MACHINE.

I don't think the average shooter that's just killing paper can tell the difference between RN and RNFP. Both can be loaded accurate...

One of my favorite 9mm cast bullets is the Lee 124 RNFP. I use it in 3, 9mms and 3, 38 Specials...

Lyman 356402 was my favorite when I cast 9mm bullets.

A 120 grain truncated cone bullet that fed even better than round nose, and was dead accurate in all of my nines.

As always a lot depends on the distance they are shooting at and the skill level of the "average shooter"

I've proven to myself over many thousands of rounds that I can shoot the difference in accuracy between a RN and FN. I'm not talking about shooting off a bench/rest, but just standing and shooting freestyle with two hands on the pistol.

The RMR 124gr FMJ FN Matchwinner is more accurate, puts shoots closer together on the target, than the 124gr FMJ RN on targets at 20-50 yards.

I had a chance to speak with Jake (RMR owner) a little while back and that has also his experience. It is easier to form a consistent nose profile with a FN bullet

I like either lead or jacketed. Plated have all been very inaccurate compared to either.
Flat nose is usually more accurate than round nose, with SWC and JHP being the best.
I buy jacketed bullets in bulk from either Precision Delta or Zero (see Powder Valley). When I need more bullets, I might look at RMR for jacketed bullets.

I load both RN and FN 124s. I do have one gun that doesn't like the FNs, the flat nose tends to hit just below the feed ramp, and it could be a reduced COL would help but I just shoot RNs in it. You may want to try a smaller order of FNs first! I have no preference over either and shoot plated or jacketed with the same level of accuracy.
Shop around but do yourself a favor and at least try RMR's offerings. Use your THR discount code and you won't be sorry, really!

I love the RMR round nose FMJ. They shoot great but I have never tried the FP. For the price I can't see any reason to load Berry or Extreme plated any more and the RMR are more accurate for me.

Round nose. Round nose feeds through everything. My Bullseye buds, when they want more accuracy in 9mm, they use HP bullets, not flat nose. I doubt there is enough difference in accuracy between RN and FN to tell the difference.

I gotta agree with RMR. Great deals! Please help with the code for RMR. Thanks. Can always depend on you guys!

OH, BTW, Hey cheygriz! How about lending me that mold for a while? That thing looks great. Who's is it? what's it made of? And what's it cost?

It's a Lyman, it's made of iron since that's what Lyman uses. They run about $115. https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1010229346

All of which can be found by just searching for Lyman 356402 which was posted.

Or you can go to NOE and get an aluminum or brass mold http://noebulletmolds.com/NV/index.php?cPath=34_258&osCsid=7e5phsbsg84bflktlimdu4hgr2

Or Arsenal https://arsenalmolds.com/products?product_id=73&limit=100 https://arsenalmolds.com/products?product_id=150&limit=100

Arsenal makes several. Just open the catalog, select show all, and search for 35-120 to start.

That's necessary to to fit the short 9MM platform most 40s are designed around.

OK I buy that originally. Seems to be the consensus
But the same bullets are used in 10mm so the case is longer, therefore the magazines are bigger in the 10mm autos,??
Not a big issue just mind wandering.
