Is all of the public land in Florida subject to the regulations outlined in the hunting manual? I was wondering if there is any public land (national or otherwise) where you can hunt wild hog year 'round without a license. Within an hour or so drive from Orlando would be great.

Do these places exist, or do you need to shell out for a license and wait until autumn to hunt the critters? We go down to FL at least twice a year and I'd like to do some more hog hunting with the boy, but can't afford to hire guides every time. And since I'm not there long enough to build rapport with landowners, private land hunting is probably just a dream. Just still-hunting the swamps on public land, hoping to spot one would be fine with me.

Any insight on this?

We've definitely got 'hog fever' after our last (guided) trip...

Darn.

I though that maybe some of the National Forests would be different...

I guess I'll just wait until I move there and buy my own hog-hunting land.
