Florida out of state CCW and Pennsylvania

OK here's how it is as far as I can see, and this is after a fair amount of research.

I live in Maryland (my bad), which is a may issue state. Pennsylvania will only issue me with an out of state permit if my current state has CCW and I have a permit under that system, which of course I don't. So I am ineligible for PA under those rules.

BUT - I CAN get a Florida out of state permit, and Pennsylvania now specifically recognizes all Florida permits, even out of state permits.

Now, what I would like to do from there on in would be to get my PA out of state permit using my Florida permit to qualify, but I don't think that will stand up as Florida is not my home state. I want the PA permit as West Virginia is set to honor PA permits this year.

Basically, if I can get coverage for PA and WV, I would be a happy camper because that's where we spend our time.

Is there anything I'm missing here, are my loopholes flawed ?

Thanks

Unfortunately no, not the way the PA law is written. You need a license/permit from your home state of residence.

''Seems'' good to me ... but that's just a gut feeling really. It is about time tho that ALL states settled on reciprocity ... this crazy setup has gone on way too long.

Hell .. hard to tell what's what these days .. if I go South into MD ... that's a pain ..... Ohio ain't much better ..... any wonder i am more than content when staying in PA! Mind you if WV is going as you say ... that is great news indeed ... seems like I'll have to head down to SW corner!! When is that change into being?

As I said in an earlier post, Pa. & Fl. have reciprocity. This is even though Fl. has a training requirement and Pa doesn`t. This now goes back to P95Carry`s post on total reciprocity. If there`s no training standard, what`s the problem?

As I understand the situation, PA recognizes the FL permit for carry while in PA; however they will only issue a PA Non-res if you have a permit from your home state. Until you get a MD permit, you can forget about a PA non-res.

My .02 cents.
