Florida third grade teacher pleads guilty to firearms charges


MIAMI, Florida - A third grade teacher at a Miami-Dade County public school has pleaded guilty to federal charges of selling guns to a convicted felon.

Federal authorities say Michael Garrison pleaded guilty in federal court yesterday to three counts of a federal indictment.

That includes selling an AK-47 rifle, a 308-caliber assault rifle, and a seven-point-62 millimeter assault rifle to a person he knew
was a convicted felon.

The sale violates the Gun Control Act of
1968.

Authorities say Garrison sold the firearms from his home.

Undercover agents and a confidential informant helped with the investigation.

Conviction on the firearms charges means Garrison will lose his permit to carry concealed weapons, he is scheduled for sentencing on October 18th in U-S District Court.

Actually, the reason this caught my eye was that he is a third-grade teacher named Mr. Garrison. I wonder if he's blaming all this on Mr. Hat?

Carebear, the "seven-point-62 millimeter assault rifle" is obviously much more dangerous than that silly .308 assault rifle. Get with the program, will ya'?

maybe it was Mr Hat that actually sold them, without mr garrison's knowledge...

personally, with every traffic infraction practically becoming a felony these days with the criminalization of america, I don't really have a huge problem with alot of felons getting to own firearms again, but that just silly old me. Anybody ever watch that Carbine Williams movie and think "man, that sure as heck would never happen today...". Rather than out old values of "hey, he did his time" we create individuals who will never be apart of society again and are therefore not invested in it, then are shocked and amazed when they go back to crime. Yeah, who'd a thought...might as well just execute them all and get it over with, since they are clearly not wanted back...

I don't think there's any problem with former felons RKBA, subject to the below:

That's because today, nobody but the potsmoker or 3rd-striker "does their time"... seems like the child molesters even get to leave the merry-go-round first and get back in line before anybody else. If felons "did their time" there wouldn't be many on the streets, and the recidivists would be gone from society, leaving largely only the "reformed".
