I found one of these online and snatched it up. It arrived at the ffl this morning and off I went to pick it up. The first thing I notice is how sweet the ergonomics are. The second thing I notice is it feels light in the hand. It comes with 2 magazines (15rd & 22rd), has night sights, ambi mag release & slide stop, threaded barrel and rail. I get it home, field strip it, give it a good wipe down, lube it and then test it out. I put a total of 4 magazines through it. The first magazine was all fiocchi flat nose fmj 180gr 1250fps. It ran through them without a hiccup, hitting where I point as well. The 2nd mag was half Winchester Silvertip jhp 175gr 1200fps and half Magtech jhp 180gr 1230fps. It ran through them no problem. The 3rd magazine was a mix of Hornady ftx jhp 180gr 1275fps, pmc bronze jhp (not sure of spec) and ppu fmj. It ran through them no problems. The 4rth and last test mag was loaded with my old carry ammo that gets retired after being chambered and unchambered a few times, loaded in and out of different magazines, or just carried for a year or longer. Its usually a little beat up and may have dents or a burr somewhere. I save it for impromptu shooting sessions. It had 1 malfunction on this mag, a failure to feed, after further inspection of the round, I found it to have a dent on one side of the rim and several burrs. I disposed on that round and the rest went through flawless. I am really liking this gun. :D

I handled one a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a nice offering. LGS had one on the shelf and I almost came home with it.

Enjoy your new purchase and let us know if you run I to any issues with it.

I can't wait until mine arrives at my LGS!!

Very Nice!!

I'm liking mine quite a bit. I believe you will love yours as well.

I have ran 3 more magazines through it since my last post. I decided to try a little target practice since I have first established it will eat a variety of different ammo without issue, from truncated cones, flat nose fmj and multiple styles of jhp. It seems to be pretty accurate with all of the brands that I tried with slight deviation in point of impact from one brand to another, which is probably attributed to the fact that I predominately stick to 170gr to 180gr projectiles. At roughly 50 feet I was easily hitting gallon sized paint cans and 2 liter drink bottles filled with water. Not bad for me considering I have only put a little over 100 rounds through it. Now I would like to get some 200gr hard cast from Underwood and see how it likes those.

Beautiful piece . How’s the trigger ?

Beautiful piece . How’s the trigger ?

I like it. It is hinged which is something I thought I would not like but after a few hundred rounds, the hinge has grown on me too. The pull was a little, I guess " hard" would be the right word, but after a couple of magazines worth of trigger pulls, it smoothed out and lightened up. It surprised me a little reading the disdain a lot of people have for the trigger on these. I guess if you are expecting aftermarket quality, you will be let down, but its as good or better than any other trigger on a polymer gun I have handled.

I just bought a black 510 last Friday. I’m waiting on 500 rounds of S&B ammunition to arrive and hope to shoot it next week sometime. The trigger in dry fire seems pretty good, slightly better than my glocks but not as good as my walthers. My problem has been finding an iwb holster. Rounded by concealment express has one but other than that the holster companies have been really slow to make 510 holsters. My go to holsters lately have been C&G but they don’t seem to be on the ball for the 510 yet. I usually don’t buy brand new gun models because of this dilemma but I really wanted the 510. Now I’m trying to decide which optic to mount. I want to go trijicon rmr this time around but if I get a good deal on a holosun with the acss vulcan green reticle I’ll probably go with that.

I've been deciding on 3 different10's. 510tactical, x-ten and ri ultra hc. Although the ri is a 1911 (which 1911's don't like me....well don't like my wrist) it might be a no on purchase? What I do have in 10's are g20, g40, xdm precision and m&p 2.0 (4"). I have 1 pcc ar also and a mech-tech (which is an absolute beast of a never failed) for a glock. I bought an olympic arms ar conversion that the mags were horrible and returned it to midway. I've seen a few 510's for under 1k, but gone now. Enjoy and give more reports.

I ended up going with a holosun 507c with Vulcan acss green multi reticle and a redEarth illuminated kito holster to fit the olight pl-3r I have. Should have everything around the 9th or 10th of may. I’ll post pictures of the whole setup after I shoot it. I want to wait until I have everything all together before I blow through 300 rounds or so of 10mm.

Would really like FN to come out with a 10mm in their FNX line.

Yours looks like it'll be a sweet shooter, nice that it's running a wide range of ammo that you had at your disposal. Thanks for informing us on it.

I agree! Hammer-fired 10mm guns, especially those with optics cuts, are extremely uncommon. Yes, I know that there are many 1911s chambered in 10mm, but very few have optics cuts and very few are double stacked. I think if FN or someone else offered a hammer-fired, optics-ready, double-stacked 10mm, they’d corner that corner of the market, at least until other manufacturers caught on.

She’s a keeper. This gun shoots really well. I didn’t shoot any hard cast because it’s not gonna be used for hunting. Shot 200 rounds of S&B 180 gr and 20 rounds of underwood 115 gr xtreme defender. These targets are from 20 yards. Total of 50 rounds shot rested on my range bag. IMG_1238.jpeg

You are reading my mind.. I agree 100%. I hope they still do consider adding the 10 to the FNX line, it would make a great competition to striker fired platforms

Great performance from the gun. I am not giving you accolades because you were shooting from the bag, but really nice shooting :)!
I assume it had some snappiness when pushing the defenders ?

Not as bad as you would think, they were light for caliber 115gr so I think that helped. They sound awesome screaming out at around 1800 fps.
