I have a JC Higgins model 50 in 270 Win, which was built on a Mauser 98 large-ring action. http://www.gunsandammomag.com/classics/ct0407/

I have been told these actions are exceptional ones for a project gun, so that is what I am making it. I am installing a heavy bull barrel, Timney trigger, then lastly I'll need to find a stock which will work.

Does anyone know where I could find a stock which would fit this action that will work with its internal magazine? Anything that could possibly work I am open to, but what I would really like would be something resembling a McMillan target stock with adjustable cheek.

If there isn't anything out there, will it be a tough task getting another stock modified to fit this gun?

Probably your best option is to contact McMillan and ask about having one of their stocks fitted to your barreled action.

While there are stocks made to fit the FN 98 action, the custom barrel will require a custom inletted stock.
The FN 98 was essentially a commercial version of FN's Mauser 98 rifle, and most stock makers can supply a stock semi-inletted for the action, and with an undersized barrel channel that can be custom fitted.

You probably won't find a ready-made stock to fit the action AND the custom barrel profile AND with the cheek rest, so anything you get will almost have to be a custom job.
Since you want the McMillan type stock, best talk to McMillan.
