I've narrowed my two next choices down to these two rivals......
Which one would " You " choose ?
I know the FNP has the hammer for second fast strikes on a faulty primer, and a hammer forged barrel ,and three magazines.

But Glock is a legend and very unique.......

?? ??

I love Glocks....

HOWEVER....

The Glocks in .45ACP have two major shortcomings for myself:

1) Too low of a magazine capacity.

2) Too fat of a grip.

They're both quality arms, and as far as reliability and durability goes, it should be six of one, half a dozen of the other. Personally, I'd go with the FN, but then again, the Glock .45 is a bit fat for my hands, and I like a manual safety, which the FN has and the Glock doesn't. Plus the FN also has the advantage of changeable backstraps, which means you can tailor it to your hand size a bit better, whereas with the Glock, you get what you get.

The 21 SF is smaller enough to matter for folks with short fingers.

13+1 of .45 is nothing to sneeze at.

I handled the FN and couldn't hand it back to the guy fast enough.

Glock all the way between these two.

Throw in an XD-45 and an M&P .45 and we'd have to discuss things a bit more.

The Gen4 Glocks will have interchangeable backstraps.

Personally, though, I don't see any advantage ballistically to the .45 ACP over the .40 S&W (and the .40 may indeed be a BETTER stopper with the right loads), and I'm quite happy with my Glock 22.

The Glock 21 has a 13 round mag capacity.

Exactly!

Why choose a fat handle G21 with only 13 rounds when I can have a G22 or G31, with 15 rounds, and suffer no ballistic disadvantage?

And it's not just the handle of the G21....the entire handgun is bigger, bulkier, and heavier than the G22 or the G31.

"The Glock 21 has a 13 round mag capacity."

True, and my FNP-45 USG has 15-round factory mags. Good gun, too.

FN makes 70% of the U.S. military's small arms. Lots of companies are legendary. ;)

I'd vote for the FN. While I have nothing against Glocks, I find that I dislike their ergonomics. I have also found that I prefer a hammer over a striker.

double strike capability means little, esspessally when you pull that trigger again and maybe a third time and it still doesnt go off. when the other guy tapracked and is back in the game. personally i lke the glock cause i dislike DA first shot.

FNP. I really like my two Glocks, but I love my FNP-9M. They have great triggers, very smooth, good length, GREAT stock sights, no reliability issues to speak of, the stamped decocker looks kind of cheesy but who cares, and the new FNP pistols and the FNP-45 have a different and vastly prettier decocker, I really like how low-tech and secure the interchangeable backstraps are, and they are nice and slim for a double-stack service pistol.

The Glock 21 has a grip like a 2x4, while the FNP-45 has a grip like a ..... well, another 2x4.

The quality is much higher on the FNP, but then again, it wasn't designed to be the lowest bidder, like the glock.

You'll just have to decide which action you prefer, as they have a different manual of arms.

Quality is as quality does. I have no doubt that the Glock will last at least as long and at least as many rounds as will the FN.

See, touch, and feel a XD45 before you choose either of these two.

It may just surprise you how comfortable 13+1 rds of .45 can be.

And very accurate.
