Guys
I currently carry a Bersa 380 Thunder or Browning HP9 depending on the activity I am doing but I am looking at the FNP in either a 9mm or 40mm but I was wondering if anyone out there can give comments positive or negative on the FNP. Its a good looking auto. I am on the way to a gun show to see if I can find one and actually hold it in my sweet little hand. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thoughts on the FNP seem to all be high. U can come check out the FN forum for more info - www.fnforum.net

FN is starting to take an active role in our site, and they periodically answer members questions. We were just told that Browning Pro 9's will be phased out in the US, and only the FNPs will be sold here.

The Browning Version can be carried cocked and locked. The FNPs cannot unless U get the SAO variant, which is hard to find. But, the FNPs come with 3 mags, the Pro 9 only comes with 2.

Also, FN has a deal for a free holster and mag carrier U can get if U send in proof of purchase (we have the info for that at our site too).

The FNP is a good pistol, mine has never had a FTF, it would make a great service gun. My only complaint is that as good as it is there is nothing to make it stand out. It is a good nice reliable gun that will go bang when ever you pull the trigger. I like my XD better but I would say it is no more reliable then my FNP.

I have a FNP-9 (DA/SA) with three 16 round magazines. The FNP is a good fit for most hands due to being able to change the backstrap, and disassembly is simple. The double-action trigger pull is stout but once I start shooting at the range I don't even notice, because first pull is DA, then 15 SA pulls. The FNP-9 is not a safe queen, it is a service pistol that shoots only as well as I do, and I have not had any FTF/FTE.
I don't conceal carry this as much as the other pistols here in S.FL but with a un-tucked sport shirt no problem, T-Shirt so-so. Other than that this is a good pistol, I enjoy shooting @ range and I know it would defend me.

Bought an FNP-40 about a month ago and have about 400 rounds through it, 250 of which are JHP. So far it has been flawless. I find it easier and more comfortable to shoot than my Glock 23. It points naturally, the trigger (both DA and SA) is smooth, the grip is comfortable and it is a relatively soft shooter for a .40 cal.

The FNP has already replaced the Glock as my preferred carry weapon. I like being able to decock and carry in DA mode. The hammer is easy to cock if you want your first shot to be SA and the safety features should make it perfectly safe to manually cock the hammer, even with a round in the chamber.

My impression is that the FNP should be as reliable as a Glock or XD. The feed angle is pretty much straight in, with little assist from the feed ramp, so you can ride the slide forward as slowly as you wish and the round still feeds slickly. Extraction and ejection are positive and forceful.

So, if you're looking for a soft shooting, reliable pistol with a good trigger that is fun to shoot and easy to shoot accurately, then I think that the FNP is hard to beat.

The FNP guns are good guns, but they just don't sell very well~! :(
But, the same can be said for the Browning PRO models. I think a
lot of consumers don't like the plastic trigger; for fears that it just
might break off, or something~? :banghead: Otherwise, they are OK.

I have carried my FNP-9 for about six months. I have 600-700 rounds at the range with no FTF-FTE. It is very comfortable in my hands, and more accurate than I am. Not too crazy about the sights, but it just may be my vision. Ameriglo has aftermarket sights that I am considering.

It is more accurate than I am, and I am more than satisfied with its reliability and ease of care and cleaning. It is not a sexy firearm, but it serves me well.
