makarov vs. bersa for female

Update, we spent a whole day shopping and she looked at the Makarov and said "it looks like an old gun." We went to 5 or 6 gun shops. She decided on a .38 revolver. Now if we can find ammo.... Part of the reason why I was steering her towards a Makarov was the ease in finding ammo.

I think the .38 revolver is a GREAT choice for both novice (and experienced) shooters. The simple manuel of arms is a real draw for most people. If you can find it, the Remington 158gr LHP (fbi load) is a great performer with a proven long term record. Also, the best flinch proof load I have found for teaching beginners how to shoot is www.mastercast.net 100gr DEWC...almost no recoil.

I have owned a Bersa 380 (sold it) and three Mak's. To me, the Bersa has a grittier trigger and the recoil is snappier (the Bersa is a little lighter than the Mak).

Just my opinion. Not a womans. My Russian Mak is much better than the Bersa.
