ive owned a number (2 is a number) of fobus holsters. theyve always fit really well on the guns ive had them for (both glocks).

now ive tried a couple on my springfield GI and none seem to fit right, there is just enough play to bug me.

now ive seen two models of these holsters both for 1911s they are the paddle style and i believe the intitials on them are C and CR and then some # 21 i think. are these different?

anyone know of a fobus that fits a GI like it should?

or how about somebody got a 1911 holster they want to sell?

I tried a Fobus with my SA MilSpec 1911 and it fit very snugly. Unfortunately, it also marred the finish on the MilSpec.

There is also an older Fobus model, the C2, which fits BHPs and some 1911s. Typically Springfields are on the chunky side by a few thousandths in a couple dimensions, so the C21 would likely work better than the C2.

I have a couple of 1911 Fobus Paddle Holsters. One is for the BHP and Kimber, and it fits the Kimber but is too tight for the Springfield.
The other fits both the Kimber and Springfield.

Marring.

I have a Kimber Ultra Carry CDP. I bought a Fobus a couple of months ago and I like the comfort. However, the plastic marred the bead blast finish on my slide, which was otherwise almost aesthetically flawless after four years of carry in an Uncle Mike's neoprene holster.

I am not telling you not to use a Fobus. Just wanted you to beware of something that I wish I'd been told of.

Also my Kimber fits, but my new Springfield doesn't.

only pistol I have that I'd put into a Fobus are Glocks.

plastic holster for plastic guns or something like that :p

I'm to fond of the rest of my pistols to risk mussin up the finish by putting them in a fobus.
