I bought one of these on ebay for $20 and am starting to see why they are so cheap. It looks good(who cares right?) but it is very difficult to draw without coming off of your side unless you tighten your belt EXTREMELY tight. I'm a complete novice to concealed carry...am I missing something??

I've been using a fobus paddle holster for about 3 years and when they are new they are kind of difficult to draw from. But once they are broken in drawin ur gun is a breaze. Also. I'm not sure if u know this or not but u have to pull ur gun strait of the holster for it to work properly.

Thanks for the reply...I was hoping it was something like that, I will stick it out a bit longer but I like the in the waist holsters. I'm just a cheap bastard and don't wanna spend $100 on a holster.

Hey don't feel bad I am the same way. You might also want to check out Don Hume holsters they are fairly reasonable I'm about to order one for my s&w 640 and maybe my G23.

Loosen the tension screws.

Not all Fobus paddle holsters have tension screws. The firm retention on the holster is a good thing. Just give a firm pull/push. Fobus is made in Israel to be combat/military duty grade. I had a gun jump out of a holster in the woods riding a dirt bike and I switched to Fobus - no more retention problem! You can run, jump, roll with the Fobus and you won't have to worry about losing your gun. Our family rides quads in some bone jarring trails and no retention concerns.

I have Fobus holsters for all of my guns. I like the firm retention of their holsters (one coworker runs with her G26 in one and she forgets she has it on her after 10 seconds).

Don't let the low price fool you. It is a great holster at any price.

Mine doesn't have the tension screws but thanks anyway. I like how secure it is but I don't like my pants to be yanked up everytime I draw.

Spritz it with Armor-all or silicone spray on the inside only.
Don't get any on the paddle.

There should no way the paddle slips out without ripping your pants.

They have a deep 1 3/4" belt slot with hooks on the bottom.
Properly installed on your pants, with fabric & belt pressed into the groove, the hooks should snag onto the bottom of your belt and pants waistband and make removal impossible when you draw the gun.

Are you wearing a belt? Even though it is a paddle holster and could be used without a belt, the tight retention will require a use of a belt for one hand draw. The paddle part is for user comfort.

I still consider the Fobus paddle holster to be a very versatile holster since I can slip it over anything I am wearing. Around the house, if I am wearing sweat pants, I slip it over the draw string top, but help with my left hand to draw.

Fobus holsters and pouches were designed and made especially for the Israeli security services and SWAT teams and used by FBI units.

Nice! Most new holsters, Fobus or leather, are tight on first use. That's by design, otherwise your gun would be falling out later after it was broken in.

I was going to post the silicone spray but someone beat me to it. Does not take much, I'd put some on an old T-shirt and wipe down the inside, a little goes a long way.
