On September 20, 2020, I started a post, “I think I want a Highway Patrolman.”

I want to thank all you enablers who encouraged me to buy this revolver. Geez I love this gun, a 6” made in 1979. So much that I bought a 4” Highway Patrolman made in 1978 from the same pusher a short time later.

I took the 6” to the indoor range yesterday and the young lady who works there (mid 20s) wanted to shoot it. At 21 feet, shooting .38 Special target ammo, she put 4 shots in one hole, with the other two nearby. Oh, for the eyes and nerves of the young!

Enablers: keep enabling.

I remember that post, J-Bar.
I also remember being envious that you had a store nearby that actually had revolvers available for sale. :)
About a month ago I missed out on a model 27 Classic. I hesitated. Bad move.
I know the “Classics” aren’t built like the older models, but here in Granola Land older S&W revolvers sell for a premium if you can find them at all. In In 22 months I will leave the Costa Oeste Socialista.

Actually bought both of these from a collector conducting private sales at a gunshow. Two different gunshows, same collector reducing his inventory. Hard to imagine a more ideal arrangement, but still possible in Second Amendment friendly states.

A 28 was my first centerfire handgun, though a 4”, bought @ age 17! It’s retired now.....but, we spent many happy hours together! :) memtb

I like my 28s. I used to be able to get these at a reasonable price but collectability caught up to them.
These are my 4&6" Model 28s.

Even at today's prices these are a good value because they will last you a life time. The 6" on top has lasted mine. It's the same age as I am 1957-58, the 4" is a new old stock from 1973 I picked up about 10 yrs ago, in case I wore out the 6". What a joke! As you can see it hasn't been used much.
You will enjoy those model 28's a lot.
