I just received a lnib M&P 9 in a trade. I traded enroute to vacation. I can't wait to shoot this thing and post pics.

Nice pics, I've also been looking at the 9c. Who here has experience with the 9c?

I've had an M&P9c for 3 years and like it a lot. Good trigger, fits my hand just right, and holds 12+1 rounds. What's not to like?

I've got one. It's a great gun. It handles like a full size, especially with the grip extension on the magazines. It's also a great gun for CC.

Nice, theres a 9c at a local gun shop near me just waiting for me to buy it. I need to make it mine ASAP!!!

I don't post much here, but saw this thread and thought I would chime in. I have a Full Size M&P 45 and an M&P 45 Compact. I sold all of my personally owned Glocks and switched over to the M&P family. They fit my hand far better and have been every bit as reliable as my Glocks so far. The 45c is my off duty carry gun (replacing a G23). If I could only figure out a way to get my agency to let me carry my FS 45 on duty I would be a very happy camper. I really like the M&P family!!

Ive been thinking about either the apex fss, or dcaek. If not apex, ive been thinking of the m&p pistol action enhancement job that smith offers. It offers new springs smoothed down action, new performance center sear, and it drops the trigger pull down a pound. Does anyone have any experience with this? Who has some advice for me?

That sounds dangerous. I wouldn't want it under 4 pounds.

Dhart, awesome video by the way. S&W ought to buy it from you. :)

I have a M&P 40 and I can't shoot it to save my life. After much thought and research, I've narrowed it down to the trigger. I had the pistol shelved for almost 6 months, but tonight I decided to buy the APEX M&P Duty/Carry Action Enhancement Kit. Hopefully that will change my mind. I'm afraid, however, that my opinion is so jaded at this point that nothing will help. If so, I might just trade it in on something else. I've never fired any other pistol that made me feel more incompetent than this one.

Maybe 4" groups at 10 yds. (Yes, I know it's me, not the gun)

After shoot other folk's M&Ps for a awhile, I finally got my own (M&P9 FS) a couple of weeks ago. I knew about the stock trigger and understood what the Apex D/CAEK could do for it.

I must say that mine has a much worst trigger than I expected. Not only is it gritty, but it has a major speed bump before letoff and also has the false reset. Even with this trigger, it would still hold inside 2" at 5-7 yards in slowfire...but it was hard to get a feel for the break when shooting at speed. It really became apparent when shooting weak hand and really brought back a nasty jerk.

I've just sent off a e-mail to Apex for a consult on what to add and what to hold off on. They have some major things in the pipeline coming for the M&P line

I've shoot a Performance Center tuned M&P9 and wasn't too impressed.

It is smoother than the stock trigger, but really not any improvement over the D/CAEK I've shot...and certainly nothing approaching the Apex FSS. I know that S&W Execs where talking to Apex, at the NRA show, about using their parts, but I don't know where that is in the process yet.

If you are going to send it off for work anyway, why not just send it to Apex Tactical?

To Ben86: im sorry I phrased that wrong, it drops down a pound, meaning it will go from 7lbs to 6 lbs, not from 7 lbs to 1. Sorry bout that. By the wayDhart, awesome video, I havent seen that one yet, love it!!!! I do have my mind on that 40c or the 9c, tough decision though.

To my knowledge, you can convert the M&P40c to 9mm by swapping a few parts but you can't convert a M&P9c to .40S&W. At least this is what I was told when trying to make the same decision. The tiebreaker was the ability to finally have a .357Sig by purchasing only a .357sig barrel. I have done so, though I don't know if I'll ever use it (but I purchased some 125gr Ranger T's anyway).

Yea the grittyness will go away, mine is completely gone. I have put around 1000 rounds through mine. The reset doesn't change obviously. It is not recommended to change or alter your trigger if you plan on using it as a carry weapon, doesn't look good in court. The police officer that was the instructor for my CCW class told me about this, he knows a lawyer that stress's this for him to teach in his classes. Take it or leave it, just my 2 cents.... smitty704 still love my M&P though yall!!!

These kind of mods I doubt the Police would even notice unless they are issued M&Ps aswell and even then theres a good chance that they wouldn't notice.

Oh yea!! I have Ranger T 230 gr. 45 acp in mine as well, next will be the Federal HSTs. Ive heard great things and seen some bad a#s ballistics testing on tnoutdoors9 on youtube. He has great ballistics tests, and gets real technical with it, check it out.

I bought a full-size 4.5" model with a couple of 10 round and three 14 round mags. I was a bit disappointed that the extended mags are really only 13 round but I'll get over it. I love the shape, size, and angle of the grip and the overall balance is super nice. I've yet to shoot it because I've been either moving or making repairs. I keep the mags loaded with Federal HST.

I bought an M&P Pro 9mm about 6 months ago and love it. I have about 3000 rounds down the pipe and it has almost been flawless. A couple of times I have failed to seat the mag all the way and caused failures. Nothing other than that. I walked in to my LGS and they had one on sale that I could not pass up. Very happy with my choice. I may end up with another in .45ACP.

How are the 14 rounders only 13 rounds? Mine take 14...

I found it very difficult to load the 14th round the first few times. But after that it wasn't so hard.

After I bought these and had trouble >>>squeezing<<< 14 rounds into them I did some research. I discovered that this is s common problem with them. Most folks experience a very tight fit or can't get the 14th round in at all. I prefer not to force in that 14th round... mine are obviously not made to take more than 13.

Maybe this has been corrected with newer mags?? If so, then I feel a bit cheated by the GB seller from which I purchased them.

That is how my 8 round mags felt when they were brand new, I could barely get in the 8th. If you force it in there and let it set for a few days, it wont be so hard to do it the next time. If they truely wont fit 14, call S&W and see what they have to say. Anyway, I have no problem with loading all 8 in mine now. Its a breeze at the range, and loading "administrative" mags as Clint Smith would say, lol. smitty704

With M&P mags, and most double stack mags for that matter, I find them difficult to load to capacity at first. For a little while I may underload them by one, if I don't feel like forcing it. After about a month of underloading by one they are usually read to be loaded to full capacity and stay that way.
