For or Against?

It has been in the news that Bloomberg et al has received ricin laced letters. The video can be seen here. I have some issues with this video and I was just making sure that I wasn't alone.

1st. If we have an issue I do not believe that it was the correct course of actions taken. What was done doesn't help our cause at all. They (num nums who do not know much of anything) WILL think we are gun nuts.

2nd is a quote from Bloomberg,

There's 12,000 people that are gonna get killed this year with guns and 19,000 that are going to commit suicide with guns, and we're not going to walk away from those efforts.

I will not deny that 12k people are going to get killed. My issue was with the 19k. If they are going to kill themselves how does that blow back on guns? What about all the toasters in the bathtub or the OD's so they do not feel any pain?

Any way... what do you think?

I had to laugh when I heard about it, then I wanted to weep. I laughed from amusement, someone was really that crazy but I was also sorta happy that people were at the point they would FIGHT if they had to, in the court room and on the streets if need be. I wanted to weep because now they can just portray all gun owners as homicidal nut cases that need to be locked up. Its a double edged sword really, like alot of things. On an off the topic point OD is not painless. I watched a loved one go into seizures, convulsions, vomiting and liver failure (all while the ambulance is arriving) It was accidental but it sure does make you think about what were pumping into our bodies. (this stuff was OTC)

ibuprofen

I try to deal with everything because this is the side effects of ibuporfen. I know it was off topic but I agree about what we put in our bodies...

Upset stomach, nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, or drowsiness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, tell your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

now back on topic, what do we do if more of "us" decide to follow suit?

I don't think we should really even call these people "us", even rhetorically, because they are NOT anything like us.

We as a community are fighting in the state houses and polls across the country and we've made some wins (not in Jersey I guess). I'm all about these nutjobs getting found, shown to be a total whacko who is not at all like the responsible firearms enthusiast next door (on this forum), and given whatever maximum legal penalties exist for their crimes after proven guilty.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was an Anti who did it, but I'm not one for conspiracy theories so will wait till the detectives have done their work.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was an Anti who did it, but I'm not one for conspiracy theories so will wait till the detectives have done their work.

That was my first thought when I first heard the news, that it was the work of an anti-gun nut, trying to frame gun owners.

Time will tell.
