Howdy folks. For the purpose of uniformity, I'm thinking about choosing a 20 gauge for my HD shotgun. I own a 20 gauge that is a bird gun. It's my primary HD piece right now, but it's a right handed bolt gun and I'm a south paw. It has a 2+1 capacity and since it's in a convienent location, and I have a toddler who likes to flip switches, I'm not putting one in the tube, ever. I figure that if I go with a 20 gauge for HD, I'll still only have 1 gauge to buy and I'll feed 2 guns.

Would you trust your life with a 20 gauge? Am I too much of a penny pincher? In May I'll have enough to buy either a 12 gauge or a 20 gauge.

It'll work. A bore of about .62 caliber, 300 grains plus of weight,1200 FPS MV. ME between the 44 mag and the 500 S&W......
