I am oblivious to anything involving this process, I own two form 4 items which were bought and all paperwork handled by my dealer.

I am considering building two suppressors, 1 for a full auto cobray m11 and a suppressed ruger 22 auto pistol.

What do I need to do to LEGALLY do this and stay out of jail?

Do I get stamps, do I pay $200 per item, where do I find forms, how do I submit?

The ATF site has the forms. Set up an account and you can file them electronically. It will take 10-15 business days to get approved vs 9-12 months for a paper for 1.

Do I need finger prints and pass port pictures?

Yes, electronic ones. You’ll have to print them out. I also saved the pdf file.

Yup.

where do I find forms, how do I submit?

Everything is done online, then printed and mailed in. The BATFE will send you cards to put your prints on if you’d like. All is found at their website.

Do I need finger prints and pass port pictures?

Yes.

I’d also suggest giving a walkthrough tutorial a read beforehand as the forms aren’t exactly intuitive. But it is easy, I’ve made four.

Are there requirements for marking items, such as laser engraving or stamping depths requirements?
