I went to the range the other day. It is a private deal down south of me. Nobody but myself & the wind to enjoy my firearms.
I picked every piece of brass I shot, with special care for the .44mag cases I had reloaded for my wife's Rossi 92 (Trail Boss & 240gr cast LSWC...real mild, clean, & accurate toward max).
Then, I got to looking around...& it seemed like somebody had left behind some truly useful brass. Here & there in one bay somebody left behind .357mag, .38spl, & .38spl +P brass. Whoo-hoo!
In another bay, I could follow the IDPA/IPSC course of fire by the piles of .45ACP brass, mostly S&B (my favorite). Every one of those beautious shiny cases made a "cha-CHING" in my mind as I picked it up.
I felt like somebody had carelessly slung nickels all over creation and I was the only guy willing to bend over & pick them up.
I ended up with from 7-10lbs of .357/.38/.45ACP brass. I'm relatively new to reloading and have never looked at range brass quite this way.
I left behind who knows how much 9mm, .40S&W, and 5.56 brass; as I don't ever expect to load for those. Heck, an industrious guy could have paved the walkways with 5.56 instead of gravel!
I need to encourage more revolver guys and high power rifle guys to come shooting. "No, don't worry about policing up your brass! You're my guest and it would be my pleasure to pick it up after you've gone."
I also did some shooting.
