I just got back from my lodge and since most of the guys down there believe in the Right to Keep and Bear Arms and usually do. I was just wondering how many
members here are Masons.

Telecontar,

While any decent reading of American Revolutionary history brings out the deep and honorable involvement of Freemasons in that struggle, at the present time mention of them quite often brings notions out of the woodwork that would be a real giggle if they were not taken so seriously.

[Just roll with the verbal missles; it's only the Internet!] --Redacted by originator, left in place as a confession. Sorry, Pax.

You'll likely meet a good many of your fellows as well -- via PMs.

There won't be any verbal missiles on this thread. Thread starter asked a perfectly reasonable question, and will receive polite responses which actually answer the question he asked, or none at all.

I hope I have made myself clear.

My grandfather was, my father spent his late teens, twenties and early thirties in the Army and and never connected. I've often wondered about that.

Hello

Member here. A lot of our lodge members, to some degree, are a part of the gun culture.

isn't it supposed to be secret? ;)

I've often been curious. When my uncle died I was somewhat surprised to learn he was very high up I guess.

Yes, many of us here are part of the great and global ruling elite that will inslave the unknowing masses. After all, we are the power behind all global decisions and all that crap. (insert violent projectile vomitting here)

Seriously, many of us here are members, and don't let the idiots and their wild whack job theories get you down when they pop up out of the dung pile.

One of my grandfathers was. I never knew him. We have his ceremonial uniform and very fancy sword. It is mentioned in the Cemetery web site his high rank in the Masons and his tombstone is masonic.

The fez is the Shriners, remember the song by Ray Stevens "Shriner Convention"? Love that song. And I always thought FreeMasons were kinda like secret society. Always see the window stickers, but never actually know anyone that is. That kinda thing. So if you want to become a Mason, do you just walk into the nearest lodge and say "Where do I sign up?" :)

I've often thought about joining the Masons. Many of my friends are members and my grandfather and great-grandfather were Masons.

Phaetos... Yes, show up at lodge and ask any mason there your questions. You will be helped out. Glad to see my fellow brothers here.

Higher Power

To be a Mason you must believe in a higher power.

That disqualifies me, and perhaps quite a few others here, :).

I was asked by a dear friend once if I would be interested in joining. I declined at the time. Later I realized that my decision was a good one due to my basic feelings on reality.

Finding information about Freemasons is actually impossible!

If you google "freemason" you will find absolutely zero web pages.

They really do control the world, the web and the weather.

Try it for yourself!

I have a friend who has been a Freemason for years. Good guy but more anti-gun than Hillary, or Rosie. Don't know if it is him, or lodge policy.

not a mason here , but i have a LOT of respect for my local lodge,

a co-worker of mine (low pay job) had a son struck down by a spinal disorder and needed a wheelchair usable vehicle and a ramp to get the kid around. he was just frantic when telling me about the situation. for lack of better advice i told him to call our local lodge. within a week they got him a vehicle and built a ramp. no forms, no "show us all your assets"... they just did it.

If they are not a closed group, will someone give us a paragraph about them and what they stand for in today's society. My deceased brother was a Mason, and wouldn't tell me squat. Said it was "secret" .........

Masons do not get involved in politics as far as I have ever seen. So no, it is not a Ladge policy.
