A friend (former co-worker, actually) invited me to shoot on his private range in his back yard. Any suggestions for an appropriate gun-related gift I can give him in return? I was thinking a box of premium ammo might be good.

Best,
Joe

No holes in his house, car or family!

Well, that goes without saying. But it reminded me of something kinda neat.

My friend has a big sand pile for a backstop, and the last time I shot there we recovered this from the sand. 410 grain steel-jacketed Woodleigh solid fired from a .416 Rigby. Note that the copper plating has been literally sandblasted away in a ring around the nose, but the very tip is still intact.

Gift

A bottle of good wine is always appropriate (the type with a cork.. not a screw off cap.) :)

the stuff that comes in a box? that fine spirit is usually reserved for more formal engagements, I suggest a $2 olde english 40oz, and pay homage to the legions of lorcin and bryco owners who swill this fine brew on a regular basis :D
