My girlfriend is visiting at her parents this week and was hoping to get a chance to visit with a good childhood friend. She called me yesturday somewhat bummed out because:
Her friend Kay's mother was attacked by the house dog. They have several "retired" PD dogs that live with them. Well one of them went nuts and attacked her mother.
Kay heard the dogs barking and her mom and brother screaming something. She wasnt sure what they were saying so she put the other dogs away. Well the screaming continued so she went to investigate to find her dog locked to her mothers calf. Her brother was holding her up preventing her from falling on the ground. Mom screamed at her to get a knife when she came back with the knife her brother took it from her and grabbed a chair to lock the dog down on the ground and stabbed the dog until it let go of Moms leg. The dog released its hold after being stabbed and was wrestled into another room.
The mother was taken to the hospital for wounds to her lower leg. The dog missed all critical arteries and nerves. So the wounds will recover well and be fixed by a plastic surgeon.
As for the dog snapping animal control took its life. The dog has never shown any aggressive behavior toward any family members till this day and was well taken cared of.
BTW I dont know if they had any handguns in the home.
