Since by all appearances the AWB is likely dead between at least Spetember 14, 2004 and February 2005 at the worst, I wanted to start a thread that dusts off the full capacity capabilities of various pistols. Please use only the number that corresponds to what is possible with a factory made flush fit mag. Thanks. I'll start with the ones I remember. Correct me if I am wrong or incomplete. All counts imply +1 in the pipe.

BHP=13 or 17
Glock17=17
Glock 19=15
Glock 20=15
USP 45=12
P226=15
92FS=15
96FS=11
CZ 75/85=15 or 16 depending on who you listen to.
P99=17?
Ruger P89=15
P7M13=13

Take it away.

Steyr M40 - 12
Steyr M9 - 14

I'm especially looking forward to these since the M series came out in 1999 - so no prebans.

What's the significance of February 2005?

What excites me is the possiblility for the Springfield Armory XD pistols. I really want full-capacity 9mm magazines, not cross-dressing 40 caliber mags!

What's the LE capacity for the XD9 anyhow?

If Bush pulls a bonehead play and puts the radical religious right on display at the GOP convention like his Dad did and Kerry ends up winning with coattails to give the Dems both the House and the Senate, Feb 2005 could be SHTF-day and put up or shutup for the cold dead fingers gun owner.

PS back on topic

Para-Ordnance
P12
P13
P14 and the other "wide body" 1911 clones
P16
P18

Most any 10 rnd 9mm or 40 S&W designed post ban could take 12+ round mags -- Taurus Millenium, CZ RAMI, Beretta 900S etc.

In a similar vein, there were some manufacturers that simply stopped exporting/manufacturing certain firearms instead of neutering them in accordance with the AWB.

I'm specifically thinking of the double-stack Bersa Thunder "Super" (15 rds). Hopefully those will be imported again.

(mag caps, add +1 in the pipe)
STI/SV 126mm flush-fit:
9mm - 18rds
.40 - 16rds
.45 - 12rds

more with 140mm tubes and/or +cap basepads & followers

so for magazines like the USP series that have essentially the same body as the LE mags, will it be fine just to replace the plastic baseplate insert to uncastarate it?

would be much nicer than having to buy all new magazines.

Also... does this mean pistols that were previously no-nos to import like the .380 Glocks will be good to go?

Sorry for the siderail.

cheers

The AWB doesn't have anything to do with importation. The .380 Glocks are not imported because (I assume) they do not meet the sportability requirements of the GCA.

Who wants a .380 Glock anyway?

.

P95 - 15+1 (17 flush w/Mec-Gar or PMI)
BDA-380 - 13+1
Glock 23 - 13+1 (w/out +2 extensions)
SigPro 2009 - 15+1
Arcus 98DAC - 17+1 (same as BHP...although KRD mag's aren't really factory)
Glock 22/35 - 15+1 (w/out +2 extensions)

These are the ones in my safe that weren't already listed.

Safe shooting,

ROFLMAO :evil:

There is definately something to that question! I mean, a .380 to me is a caliber that matches up well with a classy pistol. The Sig's, the Walther's, the Browning's and Beretta's all offer the .380 in a pistol that is at home being adorned inside a Tux or laying on the mantle looking great without taking a thing away from the guns effectiveness.

But a .380 GLOCK? :barf:

krept, no offense meant! :D

The BHP can accept mags that hold 13, 14, 15, or 17 rounds.

That's about all I'm qualified to comment on. ;)
