I'm looking for a fun range toy for under $450. I would prefer to buy new!

Currently, I'm toying with the idea of 12ga Stoeger Coach gun or MPA (MAC) in 9mm. However, I would love to hear some other suggestions. I have enough .22lrs so please don't suggest anything chamber for it. Tell me your thoughts on these guns and any others you'd suggest in that price range.

Lots of used guns available that would fit, or go with the "Top Shot" format......blowguns, hatchets, and slingshots.

Go to CDNN and look at the police buy backd. I'm going to order a 9mm Smith and W 3rd Gen myself.

No thanks on anything single shot or not a firearm (bows and what not).

I don't reload AND have no desire to start. (I know... I know...)

Also, I already own an 870, 442, 22/45 and an LCP in that price range.

So with that knowledge anyone have any thoughts either about the two aforementioned guns or other suggestions that fit the bill?

The Henry lever action could be nice. I really want one in .357! Already own a "few" .22s and 9mm pistols. I'm really trying to find something "outside the box."

Used is an OPTION if it's in really good condition. What about a Suomi rifle in 9mm?

Anyone try one of them?

I picked up a FNP-9 with Trijicons and three 16 round mags for $360.

Awesome Awesome Awesome!

Let me know if want the FFL Dealer's contact info.

The suomi was kinda cool when it was a short barrel full auto but the semi-auto 16" one seems pretty long, neutered, and heavy for a 9mm.
I don't know what they are going for now but the KelTec PLR-16 is a lot of fun! I think I paid about $450 for mine. Gas piston semi auto 5.56mm boomstick.

They take AR-15 magazines which is nice if you already have one or plan to get one eventually.
You may want to spend the extra $5 or so for an A2 flashhider if you get tired of the basketball sized fireball when you fire.

I wouldn't dissuade anyone from a 12ga coach gun though, those are definitely fun. Haven't heard much good about the MPA Macs other than they are a cheap oversized 9mm pistol (would be a different story if you could still get full auto versions for $300).

...Mosin Nagant?
A 91/30 and 5 tins of 440rds ~450$

Big boom little price.
Pretty accurate at 100yds. (well, mine is..., minute of pie plate anyone :D (and thats with irons and 20/300 vision haha))

If you do any bird hunting in heavy cover, you'll like the Stoeger.
I couldn't miss woodcock with the one I used to have.

I really like my gsg1911. In that price range and fun! How about a 22lr conversion for an at if you have one?

The coach gun seems the most probable at this point.

Any lefty shooters have any experience with an Enfield rifle.

Yugo Tokarev or that Sterling SMG in 7.62x25? No experience with either, but they look like fun and ammo is dirt cheap.

Mod a Saiga? Good on .22s? Milsurp (K31s, Mausers, Mosins, Enfields, CZ82/83, etc.)?

on the front page of the CDNN catalog they have an American Tactical 92C (Beretta knock off) with a 4.3 inch barrel for $299.99, a SIG P250 compact for $359.99, Taurus 6 shot .327 Federal for $279.99, Glock 22 for $329.99 & a S&W 5906 for $299.99

a mac of any flavor is a fun range gun if you don't mind a brick with sights that has no real good way to hang on to. i have a semi auto mac m10 in 45 acp and yes the grin is hard to wipe off. the sterling semi auto pistol in 7.62x25 looks tempting also. large capacity smg based pistols can be fun till you start to add up the ammo bill.

I'd highly recommend the ATI c92 from CDNN. I got one and it is just as good as a Beretta, and is a tack driver.
If CDNN is still giving the extra mags with C92 throw them away. The Eagle mags are complete crap. I couldn't get more than 8 rounds in any of the 3 i got. And none of them have the correct follower to hold the slide open. (that would explain why they were free).
