One gun for pure fun?

The Desert Eagle is the pure fun gun. Accurate, powerful and soft shooting. It's the ultimate range toy when it comes to handguns.

Great suggestions...thank you! I'm more and more intrigued by the world of blackpowder, so I think I'll start reading some on that topic and all the options available.

thorazine - I can't tell you how many thousands of rounds my boys and I put through that little Bearcat. They have gotten pretty good with it, and that gun just goes and goes and goes. It is nothing for us to put a 500 round brick through it in an afternoon. Now that is some quality time with my boys that neither they nor I will ever forget.

True story - I hit an empty snuff can at just about 50 yards with that Bearcat. I must have shot at it two dozen times before I hit it, and it was more luck than anything, but my boys still talk about that shot

If you have any woodchucks there in PA consider a 243 that would be summer fun and then for deer in the fall.

the most fun I have at the range involves my 10/22 and a box of recycled golf balls.
Toss one out and see if you can keep it jumping.

17 HMR. When I shoot with family members (four of us have them) we always bring them. I've had others shoot my Savage and they usually are competitive with everyone else within a couple 5-shot rounds, plinking at 100 yards at half-inch pasters, full soda cans, you name it. Little recoil, ammo cost not bad for an afternoon of shooting. A great and fun round for beginning shooters to develop confidence in their shooting abilities.

Pre-Marlington Marlin 39A .22 levergun, plinking doesn't get much better than this, plus it's a piece of American history as well

Nothing like loading up the tube (19 LR, or 26 Shorts!) and making tennis balls and tin cans dance

I recently had the same bug hit me...I got a North American Arms Mini-Master with 4" barrel in .22 Magnum. It's a hoot to shoot!

I personally love my M1 Garand. I have loads of fun with it. I also love my Recce AR 15 build, but there is that whole supply issue with them. That carbine points more naturally for me than almost anything else. I also love my Kimber Model 82 Government .22 target rifle.
