Here is a 2000 grain bullet from the gun, next to a 475#2

Most Fun Gun

German K-43 8mm. Sweet easy shooting, and accurate. I can see why they used it as a sniper rifle.

On another vein, original Whitney Wolverine .22 . Great plinker .

Last but not least, P-08 Luger in .30 caliber and 9mm. But, the P-38 was a better gun, which I also really like to shoot.

Oh, and not to mention, the readily available and ever present 1911 .

And the M-1 carbine, and.........

Iver Johnson carbine in 5.7 mm Johnson (.22 Carbine).

Acquire sight picture. Pull trigger. Noise but no perceived recoil. Repeat.

When done, scarf up the brass and reload it. Keep tweaking the load and the process in hopes of seeing 3,000 on the chronograph.

It's like two of my favorite things rolled into one.

Mp40, HK Mp5, Thompson, Freedom Arms 45-70 revolver, and the full auto Glock pistol are probably the most fun firearms I've ever used.

HK MP5/10!

Back when the FBI was transitioning to 10mm, couple of agents came to the range to familiarize themselves with the new gun (but mostly I think just to show off). While everybody was gawking, I walked up and asked if I could fire a few rounds. Semi-auto only, but HOT DANG! It was complete Rock n Roll. Maybe not the greatest ergonomics compared to some of today's guns, but I would totally have one if I could.

I agree, MP5. Shot one full auto and it was like a laser beam wherever I pointed it. Couldn't believe how controllable it was in full auto! Mind you this was after the full auto WWII Thompson that loved to climb :)

The funnest "gun" I have shot was a LARC annilator fully automatic BB gun. I ordered it from the back of a Guns & Ammo back in the 70s. It used freon cans and BBs. I shot a case of freon and a bucket of BBs summer of 1972. I sold it to a Buddy to pay tuition. :(

MP-5 SD. Done other full autos. I do agree that full auto is not really useful (most of time) But it is fun. 0................

H&H's brace of Nitro Express and Africa caliber rifles (404 Jeffery, 470 NE, 458 Lott) are always a kick in the pants.

The MP-40 is one sweet shooting easy to control SMG. A .22 Cal Uzi will shoot way longer than you think and takes only half a day to load. ;)

The MG42 is awe inspiring.

I got to shoot all of those because of friends I met here.

But my favorites are still the full auto WW2 BAR and the Barret .50 semi auto I got to shoot at a Fort Morgan MG shoot back in 2002 or so.

Funnest gun I have shot?

Well, all of them actually  ! What kind of question is that??? ;)

I've never served in the military, so I've never gotten to play with some of the big boomers mentioned here. Thank you all for your service.

For me though, there is just something about a percussion revolver, even a modern replica ...

But come on, black powder is fun. I giggled with every shot. If someone ever leaves me alone with one of those things, they'll come back to a dirty gun, no powder, no balls and no caps. Plus, I'll have a black face and big grin... or be begging for more powder, balls and caps.

My son saved up his money and with some help from dad :) acquired a Cimarron 1851 Navy, .36 cal. I giggle too every time I shoot it, there's just something about it. It just sounds and feels so different.

Cleaning it on the other hand ... wow, do they get crudded up! But I have a system now. Immediately after shooting, remove the nipples and wood grips. Place the gun in a 2 gallon water dispenser/container full of hot soapy water. Let soak for a few hours. Bore brush the barrel and chambers while holding the in the soapy water. Dry off, finish up with ballistol. Works for me!

Gotta be the Mini-Gun, the M-134. Knee high pile o' brass, the neat coughing sound, 6,000 RPM of 7.62, watching all those trees topple thirty seconds after sweeping the tree-line ... Shucks, almost every gun I've every fired was, at the moment, the "funnest gun I ever fired." Someone mention the Winchester Model 62 Gallery Gun, even a pump .22 is fun as heck.

This past Saturday, my dad and I hit the range with his new Lyman Great Plains rifle in .54 cal. His is the percussion model.

The whole process was very rewarding. We both had a blast.

I had fun shooting my old Glenfield 25. Bolt action .22lr with iron sights. Still a tack driver. My dream fun gun would be a mini gun.

50 Cal BMG semi rifle. It was my gunsmith's, made in Crotia I believe. Proud to say even being nervous about it, I put 3 in the X-ring.

THE most fun would be a tough call, but yesterday I got to shoot an silencer equipped AR-15 chambered in 300 Blackout. With subsonic ammunition. That was the most novel shooting experience I've had in a while.

Simple and retro M-2 HB 4me!

Mini guns or any multi-barreled auto never really did it for me as I always was aware of the very limited operational parameters due to cyclic rates, ammo on hand, etc..

I always seemed very removed from systems requiring electricity just as I am from a vehicle with fuel injection rather than a carb.

Modern subs, MGs and squad autos usually left me cold as well.

Retro now? Well that's another story.

Gimme a Swedish K (suppressed pleas) over a MP5 of any flavor.
Gimme an MG-3 over an M-60 EVERY day of the week.
An Ameli Cetme over a SAW though a SAW is a rockin' unit!

But in the end, it's the Ma-Deuce which takes the cake!
Swingin' that bad girl around, confident in a quick re-load or belt continuation, knew it to the point of never bothering with the sights and having the confidence in one's own interpretation of the rules of engagement and KNOWING that ballistic engagement is a certainty should it come to that...

Well, the absolute awareness of the domination of nearly all one surveys is priceless.

Having pulled the trigger on most everything available in one form or another while I was in the Army from .22 to 120mm, U.S. and foreign... It's the Ma Deuce hands down that really gets me right down to my spine.

Todd.

1. Select fire R5 (South African Galil clone). Easily controllable in full auto.
2. 88mm "25-Pounder" Howitzer (on a school cadets exercise, believe it or not).
3. M1 Garand (thanks Larry!)

Reproduction Pietta Remington 1858
M60
M14
AR-15
Bmag
Canik S-120 super accurate!

I didn't get to pull the trigger, but on USNR deployment aboard the USS Harold J. Ellison, watching that 5" 38 caliber naval gun flash and smoke ring.... and hearing that POOF! Five miles downrange...

And most of all, my Springfield M1 Garand!

I have shot a lot of fun stuff both inside and outside of the military. Most fun was a .45 cal M-10 Ingram submachinegun with suppressor.

In the military, not a gun, but a live Dragon missile, when I was in the Dragon Trainer's course at Ft. Benning in 1981. The manufacturer of a mount for the M113 APC was trying to identify a problem. They had nine missiles. I was the eighth to shoot. What made it sweeter was that no one, including a couple of SEALs, had hit the tank downrange. The testers told me to do something different. I hit the target as did the SF guy that shot the last missile.
