I had this .45 ACP Mauser built about fifteen years ago:

CZ vz24 action (Mauser 98 clone)
Burris Scout Mount
Burris Scout Scope (2.75 Power)
Choat stock
Douglas 24 inch barrel blank (intended for making multiple pistol barrels).
Timney trigger
Bolt handle cut and angled down.

Broad Creek Rifleworks had the big blank turned down and cut to 20 inches and then attached it to the CZ action and added a matte blue finish to the whole thing. A local Smith mounted the scope and tuned it a little for me.

Will shoot 50 yard 7/8 inch groups with jacketed 200 grain Sierra Match Master reloads. After firelapping, it comes close to an inch with production caste lead reloads.

Originally intended to make it a repeater. But, with the controlled feed feature, you can just insert a .45 ACP round in the back of the magazine and slap the bolt forward and it picks up the little football and pops it in the chamber. So, it is a big giant single shot.

A couple of years ago I saw where some outfit was offering repeating .45 ACP conversion kits (replacement barrel, replacement floor plate, etc) for both the 98 Mauser and 6.5 Swedish. They used 1911 mags. But, I think mine is pretty cool.

I have threatened to take it on one of the rare either sex rifle hunts we have around here. I would probably sight it in at 50 yards with some factory Hornady Gold Dot HPs that I have squirreled away. Need a broad side shot on a little doe or buck. Or, maybe a 25 yard head shot.
