Funny gun shop stories

ZeSpectre, that is a heinous story! Luckily my wife's policy is that I should just not tell her about anything I buy myself, so long as she gets her sex and the city dvds regularly and everything is taken care of. It's a pretty fair deal I think.

Yuk,yuk, I had to read that about 6 times before it dawned on me what he was talking about!!:D:D

Not really funny: Years ago I knew a woman who had just moved into a town house. She told me she found a .22 rifle in the basement and called the local police and gave it to them. I asked her why not sell it or give it to a friend. It seems she just wanted to get rid of the evil gun ASAP.

Audio equipment moron story: I asked a guy what kind of power his home (stero) system had. He started telling me the power-handling capacity of his speakers..ie: "I have a set of X spkrs that are 150w each,so that's 300w..."
He was adding-up the watt ratings of his spkrs, thinking that told him the power of his system. He was so ignorant, and arrogant,I said something like,"oh...".

"These amplifiers go to 11....."

@Loneviking

Dude!

You've got to tell me which gun shop!

I don't get down that way very often, but it's worth knowing which clowns to avoid.

Was it in Carson City, Reno, Sparks?

I know most of them, and some of them have some, uh, interesting lads working there, but that's a first.

So, yes, do tell, please.

I'm in a gunshop about a week ago and the owner has two beautiful stainless 3" S&W revolvers. I asked him what model they were and he said they were Model 64's, very nice, very hard to get with the 3" barrel. I asked if they were 38/.357's as they looked almost identical to the 65-6 on my hip. Nope, he replied, they are 38 spcls, which he claimed was a good thing as the K frame S&W's didn't hold up well to .357 loads. In fact, he claimed, the 5 shot 'J' frames were much stronger than the K's.

Really? I said I'd only heard of a problem using 125 gr. full house loads. Nope, he replied, the problem was so bad that S&W doesn't even make a K frame .357 anymore!!

He's more right than wrong. About 3 or four years ago S&W dropped the K frame .357 Magnum. The K frame was never designed for a steady diet of Magnum loads and doesn't stand up very well to it. The most often problem was/is the forcing cone splitting. The 125 JHP also added flame cutting of the topstrap. That has been alleviated somewhat because of the wimpifying of the factory cartridge over the years. I have no clue how they fixed it in the J frame, but they seem to have done it.

Hey, I though of another one.....just can't let this one go.
Years ago a friends wife went down to a local gunshop, bought hubby a brand new ,hot off the assembly line .454 stainless Taurus.Paid $350 for it. Don't remember what retail was back then on the shooter, but around $600 sounds right!

Well, he showed me his jewel that evening and commented on the price (bragged). I told him they screwed up and he needs to go make it right....someone's gonna pay and even though the sales clerk was dumb, it still isn't right!
Next day, his wife went back with the receipt, and told them, she'd been charged the wrong price. They dropped the price another $50 and took off an additional $10 for the trouble!

He told me what happened later that evening......we figured out that whatever the sales people in that store were on.....they deserved the screwing they were giving themselves!

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink!;)
