Greeting's All-

Look'in into the future, what modern day firearms (made in the last 50
years) will you be leaving too your family?

My list would include, but may not be limited to:

1966 (old model) .38 caliber Colt Detective Special
1971 (old model) .38 caliber Colt Detective Special
1971 Smith & Wesson .32 S&W Long model 30-1
1995 West German SIG-SAUER .45 caliber P220A
a Seecamp LWS-32, and a Les Baer Thunder Ranch Special 1911

There are only a few guns I would never sell, under any circumstances. Those are what I would consider my "heirloom" guns to leave my son and daughter. None are particularly expensive or rare but they mean something to me.

My Kimber Pro Carry II, I carry this daily. I hope that means something to my son.

Browning high power

Beautiful Polish AK underfolder

Russian SKS

Winchester lever action .22 rifle

One or two Berettas....

I would include a Beretta 92FS and a Beretta M9... They are classics by now.

Stay safe,

Juan Carlos

1972 Browning Hi-Power
IBM M1 Carbine

All others its too early to declare them worthy.

My Browning BL-22, this is the first gun I ever owned and is still the one I personally am the most accurate with.

Other than saying "all of them are going to be rarities if we're not careful," here's my thinking:

Any WW2-era Garand
WW2-era P-38 (seen the price of Lugers lately?)
Colt Series 70 1911
Colt SAA
Desert Eagle in .50AE (because I'm pessimistic enough to think this caliber will be outlawed one day - you know, a chip here, a chip there...)
Winchester Lever-actions, even post-64's
S&W 10mm semiautos

Yanno, I sure own a lot of stuff that *isn't* on that list! :scrutiny:

Well my 1944 Remington Targetmaster(little older then what you asked) will definately be given to my son when hes the right age. Its a real little tack driver. It was my Grandfathers and was the gun i learned to shoot with.

another one of my special guns is my .303 brittish MKI* that i have done alot of work to myself.

But all my firearms will stay in the family. Regardless of age.

As much as I possibly clan for the

I'm not selling anymore, ever again. Hope to have many more before I expire.

* As many Garands,M1As and AR15s as I can accumulate between now and then

* Some Glocks, 1911 and SIG P245

* S&W 642 and assorted revolvers in .357 and .44

* A couple of Rem 870, Moss 500

* A few 10/22 and Marlin 60

* Several hunting rifles in .30-06 and .308 such as Rem 700, Savage 110

* hopefully a few Marlin lever actions as well

I am not waiting to expire; starting this year I am passing on a few and will continue as the kids get married and have their own kids. When I die I hope everything is in safe hands and I have just a Garand and a 1911 (OK and a few more toys) left in the closet.

Well yeah, I'm not ever again gett'in rid of any firearms either. With that

d) one Springfield XD-.45ACP with extra magazines
e) two Springfield WW-II G.I. 1911 .45 ACP's with extra magazines
f) one Ruger stainless 10/.22 carbine
g) one Remington 12 gague 870 Marine Magnum

o) and several high quality pocket knives
p) lots of handloading equipment complete with an assortment of tools, several sets of dies, and Rockchucker press.

At the very least the Citori and the Single Six. Others as I obtain them, but these two have been in the family for almost 30 years now, and will be long after I am gone.

I ain't leaving my family nothin. Lettum buy their own damn guns. They can work for their guns just like I did. I'm takinum with me. Sorry it sounded funny when I thought that. All my .45's.

Let's see...
My HK's
My Italian Berettas
My S&W wheelguns
My Ruger 22's
My stainless Colt XSE
My M1A

and whatever else I pick up along the way

My father will almost certainly be leaving me his Colt Pythons both of which will hold great sentimental value. One of them was given to him by my mother, and the other was carried on duty. I will also likely be left my grandfathers old double barrel shotgun which was left to my father.

I'll be leaving my children (I don't have any yet, but plan to) the firearms listed above as well as my collection, but it doesn't have anything of particular sentimental value yet. Maybe my first gun (single shot .410) has some.

I'm doing a generation skipping thing.
My daughter gets nothing, nanda, zip. She has her own.
My soon to be born Grand Daughter (ETA 8/5) gets it all. All off paper.

AFS

My WWII Garand goes to one son.
My WWII P-38 goes to another son.
My AR-15 goes to my 3rd son.
My Browning Hi-Power goes to one daughter.
My M1911-A1 goes to my other daughter.
My Grandsons get all the rest. (19)

There are very few guns in my house that are not fair game for a trade when the situation arises. That is how most of them arrived anyway.

I have two H&R .22's from the era when they made some nicer ones with walnut stocks and these were gifts to my dad when he was pastor in the H&R hometown. they will get handed down.

I have a browning superposed OU 28 ic mod. LTRK that will go to my son. it was given to me by a dear freind weeks before he passed. as well as a 1911a1 colt he gave me earlier,

My daughter has my 39 ultrafeatherweight ithaca. The first gun I bought.

My dads victory model on loan from the USN, Goes to my son.

grandad no1's savage 99 in 303 savage, I had to find that one, he had promised it to me but on a binge he sold it. Three buyers later I had bought it back.

Grandad No2 S&W 5 shot break top 38 S&W. NIB condition. he carried it most every thursday when he went to the bank to pull payroll for his workers.

I have a .22LR pump-action that was my grandfathers...then my father when he got married...and then when I got married it became mine. It will be my eldest son's when he is married.

I have a second child now and am saving up for another rifle. I have my eye on a nice .22LR bolt-action.

The first is a definate family heirloom...I'm hoping the second becomes one.
