Futuristic Gun Range in Germany

Really beautiful and civilized...

I myself would still prefer out door Ranges generally...but, in Bad Weather, Winter bad Weather, or for Club Activities, could be a joy.

Very very nice...I hope they do well and are emulated in more European and UK places.

If gaining enough patronage and popularity among various economic strata, this could aid their public to pressure the leadership structure to maybe lighten up a little on private ownership and use...one would hope.

Mein Gott! That place is on my bucket list now. I've heard of indoor ranges with modified clay target shooting (there was an article about a skeet variant using plastic targets and #12 shot that never really caught on in the states), but an actual full-service Olympic bunker trap indoors? Friggin' awesome!

I don't think it's entirely coincidental that the range is located in Ulm, the home of Krieghoff and the famous K-80. Time to start saving up and learning German!

I'm in Germany at least once a year, I've been trying to come up with an excuse to go to Ulm to see the Walther factory, this just cinches the deal.

With as many regulations as they have on guns in Germany, I wonder who would get to use such a place. It's like a James Bond location designed by Disneyland.

It's so beautiful!

If only I had lots of money and lived in Germany I think I would be a regular at that place!

"If you build it, they will come."

I think some of the people in this thread just did. . .

Awesome range. I'm a member of the Scottsdale Gun Club, but this puts even that top-flight facility to shame.

I wouldn't dare calling it regulations; i'd say it's because of the local limitations that such a place is being used - there just aren't too many places in Europe where you can drive for three hours without seeing anybody else and then set up shop in the middle of the desert (the number of 100 yard ranges in my country, both in- and outdoors, can be counted on the fingers of one hand). The same complex in Manhattan would probably be just as successful.

Now, if someone would build such a place here in the USA and make it an "all-inclusive" "destination resort" for the shooting public. I bet it could be a money maker. A sort of Disney Land for those of us who practice the Second Amendment. People would come from near and far.

it is a Blaaser R93, the must have hunting rifle in europe for the moment, straight pull bolt action, very fast , very nice, starts at about 2500 €.

Also one can make for quick barrel changes, wich means, you can have miltiple calibers in one gun.

Greetings

oooOOOOOoooo. I likes.

Thanks!

Leave it to the folks at THR to know what rifle it is with only a third of it showing in 3 seconds of video thumbsup2.gif

That was very cool! But I think I'd rather shoot soda cans and plastic jugs full of water at my favorite outdoor range. Fancy-schmancy ain't my thing, but the lack of wind and the video target monitoring would definitely be cool. That place is too "boutique" for me.

I spent seven years in Germany. It's a great country with beautiful women. This is just one more reason to visit.

Pretty cool, but I'll wager the folks can't walk off the range back to town with a loaded handgun in their holster and a rifle over their shoulder.
