g27 and g36 comparison ques.

I'm thinking of trading my Glock 27 in on a Glock 36 and I'm wondering if the 36 has less recoil and muzzle flip. I'm hoping it would be a little easier to shoot? I would use it as a CCW piece. Does anyone have any experience with both?

I have had both. My only complaint with the 36 was its swell in the back strap. It felt way different than any glock I had and for this reason it was sold.

I describe the felt recoil as being slower and taking a longer period of time than the 27 offers.

I did not mind the recoil on the 36, I just noticed it more because I had several glocks and it was all by itself in that grip swell.

I still have the 27 around and it simply has a faster recoil impulse which many consider to be more recoil.

I still want a 36, but every time I pick one up and hold it that grip swell turns me off.

For rounds I ran everything from light and fast to big and slow, all factory loaded and boxed. No specific type of round was any more trouble than another.

My 36 has less felt recoil to me than my 27... to me.

I've owned 7 different Glocks over the years including the 27 and 36.
Of all the different ones, the 36 fit my hand the hand the best.
The recoil was very similar between the two, with the 36 possibly being a little less.
I stupidly sold the 36, and that is one of the ones I'm considering getting again.
YMMV. Never had one single problem with the 36 as well as any of the other Glocks I've owned.

I've shot both and to my hands, the G27 has a bit more recoil... definately more muzzle flip or snap. Wouldn't sway me away from carrying or buying a G27, and I think it's unlikely that someone that found the G27 to be intolerable would find the G36 a pussycat.

I agree that the G36 has a kind of funky grip. Actually, both small 45s have uncomfortable grips for my hands... The G30 is to blocky and the G36 is too bumpy for lack of a better word. Both both make excellent SD guns.

I'd personally stick with a G19 or a G23 myself. I find them to be the most comfortable and best balanced Glocks.
