I've never been a fan of Gander Mountain's prices, and I never thought I'd say it, but I gotta thank my local Gander Mountain. Up until about two weeks ag, they had stacks of 9mm, .357, and .22 available and all of it on sale.

They even had AR-15's priced at $800.

350rds of 9mm for $99.00
100rds of Remington UMC .357 for $54.99
500rds of Winchester .22lr in a pretty wooden box on sale for $24.99.

Not the best prices I've ever seen, but in the current market no complaints.

Wow, I'm surprised they have that level of inventory still left. I'm also of the same opinion as yours, never been a fan of their pricing, especially on used firearms.

My local Gander Mtn. has had as a permanent resident in their used handgun case for about three years now or more a battered old 2nd Gen Glock 22 with dead night sights with the reasonable price tag of $550.00.

A couple of weeks back, I roadtripped to one 45min away to find empty ammo shelves, a line 10 deep at the gun counter and very little in the case except for a Desert Eagle and some hunting rifles. <shrug>

I agree you normally don't get any bargains there. But I did pick up a few Federal 525 .22 bulk packs for $14.99 in Dec 2011. Next time I see them at that price I will pick up a few thousand rounds.

I usually just look as well, and was really shocked, because every other shop in town was out of ammo, including both Walmarts. There store has been opened less than 6 months, so perhaps they just haven't built a customer base here yet. I went back in today and the pickings are a little slimmer on bulk practice ammo in the popular calibers, but there are still plenty of boxes of defensive ammo and none of it above normal pre-panic prices. There were also one or two reasonably priced AR's and a glass cases full of normally overpriced handguns. But again, it is same-old pre-panic Gander handgun overpricing:)

Gander Mountain in Geneva IL last week wanted $58 for a box of 40sw 100/pk wwb. No way would I pay that.. That gander has always gauged prices. I will pass on gander for good. They gauged prices well before all the panic.buying and ammo shortages.

The Gander Mountain and Cabelas in my community are usually way overpriced. Gander Mountain right now is well stocked but is expensive. They want $35.00 for a box of 50 rounds of Winchester white box and $50.00 for box of 100 rds. of 380 FMJ. Lots of unsold 40 S&W sitting on the shelves.

Same here BSA. Cabelas used to have a ton of components now all they have are .50 BMG components and those are limited. The pistol case(s) at cabelas are now one. It's saddening
