It's just a simple piece of bent and folded, stamped out metal, yet apparently there are vast differences that take a micrometer or some such measuring apparatus to discern.
So far, I have gone through two bandoliers of the clips in my Service Grade Springfield M1 out of one of those 192 round ammo box full of bandoliers from CMP.
In both bandoliers, there has been one clip that fails to feed reliably. Even when I reload these clips (from a can of HXP 30-06) and try them again, the same thing happens.
When you hold these two clips up next to any of the others, there is no discernible difference? Yet there HAS TO BE some difference?
Also, the QUALITY of the clips from Greece and the one that came with the rifle from CMP is vastly difference. Heavier guage metal and it has been finished differently compared to the Greek clips?
I plan on buying some of the better clips at the next gunshow. Maybe even some of those "purty" sliver parade clips.
