Has anyone ran their battery all the way dead, to the point the unit shut down while in use?
I have ran down a couple battery cycles on mine, but have never actually experienced a forced power-down until this weekend. I was at a class for a couple of days and we placed 4 Garmins in front of the 4 lanes of the firing line to be able to measure every shooter as they each took their turn. We shot about half a day on Saturday then shot most of the day Sunday - when I plugged in my unit to keep it going through the afternoon (I'd started the weekend around 75% charge, and it was down to the last thin sliver on the battery gauge), but I checked the batteries on the other 3 units, and Robert Brantley's had completely died. I plugged in a battery pack, and it took around 30min before it would turn on again. We were concerned it was damaged in some other way. That's an N=1 experience, but I'm curious how long folks are seeing the unit need to recharge before coming back to life.
I do keep a credit card sized battery pack with an integral USB-C cable in my Garmin box, tucked under the foam in the lid, and I pretty reliably keep mine charged so far, but I was really surprised how long the King's took to come back to life.
