Can someone recommend a good pair of GR sights, it is for a Moss 500 with a knoxx stock with the raised cheek adapter, think its called the power pack. I would like the GR sight to go on a weaver mount and preferably have a glow in the dark front sight, hopefully one that doesn't take a gunsmith to install.

I previously had a red dot on it but broke the 2nd one on this gun so I think I am through with those.

I can't think of any that would clamp on top of a rail, although somebody somewhere probably makes one.

The thing is though, it will take an awful tall front sight to match up with one perched on top of a rail already.

I think your best option would be to take the Weaver rail off and use the holes to mount a lower rear sight & matching front sight.

I'd say call Midway and see if they can tell you more about it, and what options they have if it doesn't end up working as far as returns go. If it were me I'd go with the Mossberg ones just for peace of mind, I know they'll work and if your other accessories don't work with it I bet the folks at Mossberg will take care of you. Plus the Moss ones are about half the price...:uhoh:

Let me guess you paid less than $200 for the RDS. I would swear off cheap red dots not red dots generally. Try an aimpoint.

IMHO the cheaper red dot sights are a false economy. As you have experienced, with the cheaper ones that broke. Aimpoints are not cheap but they work and are very durable. You can get something like an aimpoint pro for under $400 if you wait until a place like Midway has a sale. They often have sales of $30-50 off on orders over $300.

I have a mossberg 930 SPX with ghost rings and I have an aimpoint on another gun. I prefer the aimpoint in every way.

Many people will say you don't need a RDS on shotgun and they are right, in that you don not strictly need one. However RDS offer advantages, and for the type of uses that GRs are useful I would rather have the RDS.
