Ginex SPP Initial Impression

Range Update-

I just shot 400 of these primers in 2 Caniks, a VP9, a PPQ and a Walther PDP (Yes it's everything reviwers say it is). All went bang flawlessly, no difference in accuracy or recoil. The dimples where the firing pins hit were medium depth, and all very consistent in shape.

I"m satisfied, now not nervous about the 5k I bought, and may buy again.

400 more shot yesterday, all went bang.

I did like how consistent they were in ignition and produced good average size groups for me. I reserved remaining Fiocchi primers for well used brass with slightly enlarged primer pockets to extend the life of brass.

That’s what I was just about to recommend as a possible solution for brass that is starting to stretch the primer pockets. Maybe in some midrange loads as a final farewell to the brass, or maybe even for someone that got a little overzealous in their pocket reaming/swaging and needs to be able to salvage the brass.

Don’t really know, just thinking random thoughts out loud. I have a couple cases of the ginex, but it will be a few years before I get to them.

Thanks for making this thread and the updates. Like you, I'm also waiting for my NFT order. Glad to know they should work.

Someone started a thread yesterday for Noah @ NFT to respond with an update.....
I know this isn't the thread....
But, where did it go....?

AFT still says end of July for approval.

On a side note, I decided to start loading with my Federal primers, to free up storage space; they use the biggest boxes of any. I just loaded 200, and they now feel really flimsy to me after loading 1k Ginex. Ginex is now my #1 SPP choice. Noah said he will give 1st round purchasers an option to order more of them before shipping to anyone else. If this all works out, I am ordering more, then maybe selling my Federals.

Hey guys. Not sure if this is the thread you all have been posting info regarding my primers in, but just wanted to let you know in case you didn't get the email I just sent out, I will be posting tomorrow with full details on this order. My import permit was approved by the ATF. Full details tomorrow. Gotta get my kids to bed and decompress my brain after today's marathon phone and zoom sessions to make everything function with this project.

I started the thread yesterday, guess it was deleted. I don't know of a better way to communicate amongst member that are on the preorder. Threads are created and then deleted for being "off topic".

Is there a better area to post these threads?

From Noah last night:

"Good evening everyone,

I’ll be sending out a comprehensive email with the final status of the primer presales tomorrow. I’ve spent my entire day on multiple phone calls about this and at this point in the day I need to get my kids to bed. Our permit has been approved for import of not only primers but numerous other items, primarily ammo. Tomorrow I will give everyone all the information regarding this early enough in the day to field responses. Thank you all for your continued patience and support through this ordeal. It has been one of the biggest hurdles I have had to overcome since I got into this business. More tomorrow...

Good news!

Interesting, maybe I'll figure out an easy way to hit the primer pockets with Oneshot.

Update: It just occurred to me that I will need to spray the primers (Face down), as I am using a turret. I'll try it today and post results.
UPDATE: I solved the tight seating issue, no Oneshot needed now. When I was doing my 2k round press cleaning, I noticed a buildup of hard powder/ dust(?) residue on the bottom of the priming cup. No telling how long it had been building up, as it was exactly the same color of black as the priming arm itself. I had to sand it off. Now the primers seat normally, without catching the primer pocket. :)

Hey guys. I just sent this email out to all preorder folks and will post it here as well for everyone to read.

Hello again,

Straight to the point here.

So our import permit was approved early this week, which is a huge win on many fronts for my company. I immediately called my supplier to get the ball rolling on these primers and other items of interest to be shipped over. A couple hours after we spoke he called me back and informed me that the pallet of primers held for me had been inadvertently used for his loading operations (he is an ammo manufacturer) and claimed it was a mistake. There were words. Believe me. The logical next move was to find more, and as a loader he definitely has them. They are, however, not what I originally ordered. Here’s where we are at…

What is available:
I can get SV Primers (country of origin is Argentina) and I am told they are better than Ginex. He is currently using them for his commercial loading operations with no reported problems. I was originally given a price of $.25/primer and balked given the obvious situation I’m in and was able to work him down to $.15/primer cost to me which is also what he is paying for them. I’m only disclosing this information so nobody thinks I’m trying to gouge when I mark them up a small amount to cover my costs for this. As some of you on High Road have stated, I’ve already paid the taxes on your orders, had merchant services fees taken out and the administrative costs associated exist as well. After discussion with my accountant we have reached a price of $.19/primer to cover my costs and ensure I don’t end up losing money on this deal. At $.19 I stand to basically break even.

How this would work is:
Anyone who wants out and requests a refund will get one. Hopefully this isn’t everyone because that would definitely result in a significant loss to me, which I am willing to accept and anticipated as a possible scenario when I made the decision to do this early this year. My only goal has and still is to deliver primers to the reloading market where manufacturers have refused to since the buying surge. Anyone who wants to keep their order, reduce or expand their purchase may do so. I will need an email stating what you’d like to do so I can get a full count and place the order. These are not going anywhere so there’s no worry it will not happen. If you choose to stay in, we will recalculate the cost for the requested quantity and I will send an invoice via PayPal. Once orders are in, I will make the phone call, the pallet will be packed and we should be no further than a week out.

I have spent the past week while dealing with this reality making phone calls all across the country and to various international suppliers trying to find a better deal and everyone, from the big dogs down to the small fries who manufacture primers are refusing to sell to the retail market for reloading. My supplier is only willing to do this with me because of the relationship we have and continue to build. It is unfortunate that it has come to this and I offer my sincerest apologies to you all for making you wait this long and then having to jack up the price over 300%, but this is the best deal I am able to generate, and the only one available on a recurring basis. I will be able to continue to get primers in the future. The price will continue to fluctuate just like ammo does, but they will be available. I was told that even for commercial loading operations that CCI is selling primers for $.25 WHOLESALE!

So here we are. Please let me know what you’d like to do so we can keep the momentum going. It’s taken this long and we are almost to the finish.

Best regards,

:eek::eek::eek:

Looks like a business deal gone bad ...

If you collect range brass or purchase military ammo and want to reload it, just deprime and swage them. Some autoloaders work great for this, so it can go real fast or just do them one at a time. This process can be less frustrating than fighting with primer seating issues or sorting brass.
