then a 10mm 1911!You don’t just want a .45, you need a .45. Make it a classic Xmas, with a 1911 under the tree.

Only 38/357 now.
When I see what else comes with the primers I might consider that. My two semi autos are both 9mm so maybe add at 45 ACP? I'm supposed to meet today and pick up the components. He mentioned some lead bullets too and other assorted odds and ends.

A friend just called and asked me if I wanted any reloading supplies he was given by a friend of his. When he told me there was 3K primers included I was pretty excited but turns out they're LP magnum and I only use SPP. I didn't refuse them because any primers are like gold now and figured I can trade or sell on consignment to a LGS. Another option might be here on the for sale/trade forum just in case someone in my area is interested in buying/trading. I'm not going to stick my neck out shipping illegally. Any other ideas other than buying a gun that uses LPM primers?
that 500gn bullet is no joke!LPM is what the 458 SOCOM uses, though I use CCI. Easy choice, buy a new upper in 458 SOCOM and have some big bore fun.
Here is a little comparison ..... 223R 69gr, 6.5CM 140gr, 458 SOCOM 325gr FTX, 500gr RN

Came with 500 185gr 45 cal. SWC. Primers look like they were stored properly too. Going to have to figure what this "free" stuff is going to cost me if I cave in and buy a 45 cal., dies, powder & brass. Maybe trade the 240gr 44's or 7.62 x 54mm for 45 brass. A Blackhawk might be fun.
The last bit of reloading gear I was given was a MEC 600Jr. setup for 1-1/8oz. 12ga. 2-3/4" loads. Came with three bushings, two bags of Winchester AA wads, and a bag of about 100 Winchester AA "red" shells. I loaded up a half-dozen #7-1/2 loads - because it only came with enough for that many - but haven't had a chance to try them yet. I have already ordered more bushings as well as shot, hulls, wads and a bunch of stuff to get started.
It's amazing how much it can cost you to get free stuff!
Wow! Nice gift! I highly recommend any single-action revolver in .45 Colt. Most fun you can have with your clothes on and prices right now are fair across the board for used and new guns.Came with 500 185gr 45 cal. SWC. Primers look like they were stored properly too. You have the bullets and primers... what more justification do you need to get one of these?Came with 500 185gr 45 cal. SWC. Primers look like they were stored properly too. You're halfway to reloading for a 44 Magnum.Came with 500 185gr 45 cal. SWC. Primers look like they were stored properly too. I second that!I would recommend a .44 magnum revolver to pair with your primers.
what .44 mag do you like? I recently also got a hold of some Fed LPM (why box so big???)You're halfway to reloading for a 44 Magnum.
If you're really considering buying a gun.
I appreciate the encouragement/enabling and it has been fun but I decided my right hand has been punished enough. I'm not a wimp but RA and a botched surgery makes 45 cal/44 Magnum a bad idea. Stayed up late last night looking at revolvers in those calibers but today decided to use the gift primers/bullets to finance or trade for SPP and stick to 38spl and downloaded 357s. You guys had me on the edge though.View attachment 1044965I would recommend a .44 magnum revolver to pair with your primers.

I like a Super Blackhawk. The grips for my hand very well.what .44 mag do you like? I recently also got a hold of some Fed LPM (why box so big???)
In that case, you should have no problem working a decent trade considering how many shooters there are in New England. Best regards and good luck.View attachment 1044966
