Glaser Safety Slug in 7.62x39?

I have an AK-47 with a front hand grip and it is a nice good feeling carbine rifle to me, in open spaces it fits me just right and is snug. My current house I live in is around 2000 sq ft. and using the AK for home self defense would not make sense, two many corners and tight spaces that would make maneuvering it much more difficult than a handgun. Also, I only have around 15 feet on the sides of my house to the next houses. Obviously FMJ and JHP 7.62x39 would be a poor choice due to over penetration.

I will be moving into a total of 4000 sq ft. house mid year and the hallways, corners, rooms distances do really lend themselves well to using my AK. I will have around 50 feet on average between me and the next house on either side, so still probably have to take over penetration into consideration.

All the above being said, would the Glaser Safety Slug in 7.62x39 in my handy AK be good home self defense weapon and cover my over penetration fears? Would the Glaser Safety slug be up to stopping the bag guy/s when proper shot placement is used?

Thanks

I'll bet it would make one hell of a surface wound, probably hurt a lot too. I wouldn't bet my life on it stopping anyone though.

I doubt that extra 45 feet is going to make a dif if you're using standard ammo. You shuld absolutely be using Safety Slugs unless you want to overpenetrate and possibly kill a neighbor. An x39 has far more power than you probably suspect...
