Glass projectiles

Pewter is mostly tin (sn). It is highly sought after by bullet casters for making lead bullets harder and cast more evenly.

At a yard sale this am I paid $2 for a set of 6 pewter Jefferson Cups. Made by Hanle Company. They weigh about 5 oz each. They are nice and silver Too nice to melt down. They will go into the Rendevous chest.

Great deal, but I'd have left them for a collector as I, too, appreciate well made items.
forgot to mention Goodwill, Salvation Army and VOA stores as possible sources, some good items turn up from time to time in them.

I think they would hold up a lot better than most people realize when used as projectiles.

Ah but not all small, glass spheres or marbles are the same. I have a Chinese Checkers set that uses glass "marbles" and if you take two or three, and squeeze them inside your fist while rubbing them together, they will flake off layers of colored glass. So, marbles made for the game of "marbles" yes, but glass spheres that look like marbles, maybe not.
