I decided to use the panic buying as an excuse to do something I have been wanting to do for years, buy a Glock. Put a Gen 4 Glock 19 on layaway last night. Placed the order around 2:00 am CST for $580. I just checked Buds and they have raised the price on the G4 19s to $619.

I almost went to sleep "thinking about it" but decided to go ahead and reserve it. Some of the other pistols I have been watching the last few days or slowing selling out from their website. (CZ P07, M&P FS 9mm, Ruger SR9 for example)

Anyway I am glad I got it when I did.

Supply and Demand. Panic buying of anything that comes with Hi-Cap magazines as they will most likely be banned again in the near future...again. I still see them for around $550 at the gun shows but that won't last for long.

The used market for Glocks is HUGE. I'd have no reservations at all with buying a LEO turn-in. A lot of times those are like new and at a deep discount.

I'm sure the price increase is a result of panic buying, but a little insight into Bud's pricing system help explain.

I was trying to purchase a PPQ last year, and overnight the price increased by $50, I contacted Bud's to inquire (this was pre-panic buying). They told me that their online pricing system automatically updates from their suppliers.

You're basically paying the price it will cost them to replace the pistol you buy - Say their normal supplier cost + their markup = $580, if that supplier is out of stock, their online pricing system goes to the next supplier, if their prices are higher than the initial supplier, that is immediately added onto the bottom line of the price you pay.

Take it all with a grain of salt (especially in this panic buying season), but that's what I was told.
