I have a Glock 19 with approximately 15-20k rounds through it. I started getting light strikes so I figured it was time to re-spring the gun as the striker spring had worn out. While replacing the trigger coil spring this morning I noticed that there appeared to be significant wear, where the trigger coil spring connects to the trigger housing mechanism. I suppose this could in some way be responsible for the light strikes, but I had never really thought about this before.

Has anyone ever encountered this before?

A photograph of the trigger housing mechanism is attached.

Brownells has them for a mere $8.
Why mess around, just get a new one.
Even if it's not the cause of the problem, the one in your picture is mighty nasty looking.

I don't think that the $8 part is going to solve that problem. The problem appears to be to the trigger housing part of the frame. If that is the case, you should contact Glock and see if they are willing to help. They do have a reputation for taking care of customers well. Regardless, all they can say is no.

Call glock and see if they can help. Your gun definitely needs to be looked at by a glock factory armorer.

Did you remove and clean out the extractor housing? A sticky gummy extractor can cause the slide to fail to close that last fraction of an inch and cause light and off center strikes.
