Ok. Quick poll which one would you pick for open and/or concealed EDC? Ok go.

CZ P01 or P07.

Of the two, I'm not sure either are bad choices. Have you shot both?

I have a P07 and like it a lot. It just seems to big for me to conceal. At least the way I'd like to. I'd prefer appendix carry. And no I haven't shot either one. No rental ranges around me.

I have both. And i carry the g19. Only because i can draw the glock faster. Has a longer grip handle. Both conceal very well. I would go handle both, then decide.

The Glock guys often complain they'd like S&W to make a G19 size gun in the M&P line.

I see it the other way around. Dimensionally, I think the M&P Full Size is a better full size than the G17 or G19, while the M&Pc is a better compact than the G19 or G26. If you want the "tweener" (think NFL Draft and the college defensive end that is too slow to play linebacker and too small to play defensive end in the NFL. You get a talented guy that does neither thing well) gun, the G19 may be the better choice.

G19. I haven't handled an M&P 9c in a while, but it was on The List back when I first started looking for a polymer 9mm. I like the way the full-sized M&P feels in my hand, but the 9c has too short of a grip. I realize that it's very, very close to the G19 in size, but the G19 fits my hand better. (Yeah, I know. That last bit isn't a phrase you hear very often!)

I've been a Glock guy for years, so that would have been my obvious answer up until recently. But there have been some new entries into the market for compact defensive semiautomatic pistols that make it worthwhile to look at other alternatives. I think that the Sig P320 Compact or the P320 Carry, which is the compact length slide & barrel with the full size 17 rd. grip, might be a better choice than the other two. I've wanted a G19 slide & barrel with a G-17 grip for years. Sig responded to such a request from LE users with the P320 Carry.

I rented both back when I was making this decision:

The M&P felt the best in my hand. However, for me it was slightly less accurate. I realize that there is nothing that would make it more accurate and that with practice I could learn to shoot more accurately with it. I was very disappointed with the trigger reset. I couldn't hear a click and I couldn't feel it either. I had to guess where it was on each shot. Sometimes I guessed wrong.

The Glock grip felt like crap in my hand. But I was the most accurate with it (by a little) and the reset was amazing, an audible click and a felt click on every shot.

I bought the G19

There is ONLY 1 clear choice.... its the choice that I made ;) ......

MP9c.

With out the pink rest it hides as well as a g26 and with the pink rest it hides still better than a g29.

In honesty though, I chose it for the hand fit and features over the glock; not because of the size compared to glock. Shorter trigger reach, no trigger dingle, and avail with thumb safety to be consistent with my BHP.

Both good choices.

No one can tell you which gun to buy. It comes down to which feels better in your hand and which you shoot better. If you don't like it you might not practice with it and you have to practice with your carry gun.

I'm a revolver guy and I like S&W products but one of the rare semi-auto handguns I own is a Glock 19. I shoot it well so I bought it.

I've had a Glock 19 since they first came on the market about 24-25 years ago. Have shot my friends M&P 9c and find it a very nice pistol too.

Won't be selling my 19 to buy a 9c but if I ever had to replace my 19 I'd probably get a 9c because the price point is a bit lower for a gun that's pretty much equal. If cost is the same I'd say get the one that you feel better holding or simply toss a coin.

My main reason for asking is there are no rental ranges around me. And the 19 on display to hold and feel out is practically impossible here too. Which has me kind of worried as to why. I've held one before comparing to my CZ P 07, and liked it. But I also like the M&P as well. My range only offers the 17 I believe. And that's not a just comparison.

The S&W MP9c may be had with the OEM magazine equipped finger extension thus no problem with those that have XL hand size. I have both the G19-Gen3 and the S&W MPc9 and of the two prefer The MP9c. (The combined width of my middle, ring, and small fingers is 2-1/4 inches which allows a finger grip to not extend past the OEM magazine equipped finger extension.)

Hangingrock. I have both. And i only prefer the 19 for the longer grip handle. The m&p9c concealed so nice. But i cant seem to draw and grab the handle as good as the g19. I guess i got wide fingers.

I think you might want to consider a Glock 26 in your comparison to the 9c, as the 9c appears to be in between the 19 and the 26 in size. I've got a Glock 27 with a 9mm conversion barrel, and I'm running it with a Glock 19 mag with an X-Grip sleeve, so the grip feels similar to the 19, but I've got the ability to run the shorter G26 mags in it if I need concealment.

Having said that, the 9c feels great in the hand - better than the Glock - to me. I don't own one, but would like to spend some range time with one. I do like the fact that it's available with an ambidextrous external safety. It also has a huge aftermarket (like the Glock) and S&W's customer service is legendary (better than Glock's).
