So i was told the othere day by my Captain that the new Slimline Glocks were really cool. He was wondering what they are like.
So in light of that i thought that i would ask you guys and see if anyone has tryed one out or not and if you have then what are they like?

Alright everyone tell me what you all think about the New Slimlines !

If your asking about the 21SF it stands for "Short Frame" not slim line. The frame is shorter front to back, with the same width side to side. The 21 SF falls in between the old 21 big grip, and the standard G17/22 size grip. Its a subtle difference. I like it better than the older grip. The newer ambi mag release I'm not fond of. It digs into my middle finger. This is a simple fix though.

Yeah thanks. I new what the SF was but My Capt was calling it a slimline so i was thinking that it had some name that i was unaware of.
Thanks alot for the pics and the info though i have not yet got a chance to get ahold of one but i hope to. How does it shoot ? Any difference or the same ?

Again thanks for the info, it will ba passed on.

I'm the dense one in the corner :( I had both the SF & the std 21 in hand & could not feel the difference :scrutiny: I don't know if this is a case of the "emperor's new close" but I don't get it :scrutiny:

I handled both side by side, and the difference, as said, is subtle but there. The difference between the old 21 and an XD 45, however, is more than subtle. ;)

Dunno why, but the pic rails are just so DAMN SEXY on a Glock!! Wish we could get those here in Kali....

I own a G21SF with the pic rail, I like the looks of the rail also, what I like better is shooting it. I shoot it so much better I am thinking about selling my G22. Pops

"The newer ambi mag release I'm not fond of. It digs into my middle finger. This is a simple fix though."

What IS the simple fix? I am not fond of the ambi either.

Thanks!

I could tell the difference as my trigger finger was perfectly positioned with the SF without changing my grip. I bought the SF and like it. Mag retention is a little spotty, I have to smack them in there pretty good when fully loaded. Otherwise I love the thing.

For my medium sized hands the subtle difference in grip size was perfect. It resides next to my bed with a TLR-1 as my "nightstand gun." While I'm still a confirmed SIG man, I really enjoy my 21 SF too. ;)

Striking difference in feel

I cannot hold the old G21 without altering my grip, thus would never have come close to buying one. The 21SF to me isn't even a compromise. It just fits, period. When I hold it with the slide in perfect alignment with my forearm, the grip is secure and comfortable, and the reach to the trigger is perfect. The trigger hits me right in the middle of the distal phalange of my index, which I like. On most other DAO or SA pistols, the trigger sets in the joint between the distal phalanges. My glove size is a middlin 7 1/2. Needless to say, I bought one.

As far as shooting goes, I need to take it out more. I felt more accurate with my old G21. I have not shot it much to critic it. The trigger is not as clean as my other glocks. I've read that the trigger bar on the first generation of SFs were not as smooth as they should have been. Replacing that part fixes the issue.

As for the the ambi mag release issue, I was thinking that it could be replaced with the standard G21 mag release, or simply filing down the edge on the right hand side of the mag release which contacts my middle finger.

One attraction to the new SF is the rail. I think it looks aggressive as hell!

I handled both side to side and could deffinately tell a difference. I have smaller hands and the G21 is just to big for my hands. I can handle it without problem so long as both hands are on the gun. If I have to switch to one hand I can not adequately control it.

The G21SF is reduced just enough that I can get a proper one-handed grip with it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but am looking forward to the opportunity.

Hold the 22 and 21 SF side by side

They feel very similar to the 22 now. Overall, I think it is the improvement that was needed. I was going to stick with the Glock 40s because of the smaller grips. Thank goodness I can again enjoy the .45. Thanks Mr. Glock.

Like 10-Ring the difference between the SF and my old 21 is insiginificant to me. In the dark I couldn't tell the difference.

mags

it looks like you could convert a regular 21 or 20 mag to fit into the SF ambi frame by just routing out a small notch on the front of the mag. I'll give it a try if I ever get some cheap older mags.
