Hello everyone, just purchased a Glock model 23 today in 40 S&W. I put 50 rounds through it and around 9/10 shots were slightly left. I didnt notice myself negating left but I did notice the recoil snapped my hand up and to the right. I only did around 15 of the 50 rounds rapidly. The rest were controlled steady shots. I am a right handed shooter, the distance was 10 yards. Anyone have any tips?

Thank you.

p.s., I have limited semi-automatic handgun experience. I've only shot 100 rounds through a 9mm and 100 rounds of 40s&w, it could be my lack of experience. I am well versed with long rifles and shotguns though.

Sounds like you're jerking the trigger.

Describe your hold and stance, please.

I first started out with a G23 as my first handgun many years ago. I had the left issue also. It is definitely trigger control, control your breathing and make sure your grip is correct. Once you get the hang of it, your shots will correct itself and should align center.

NO!!!...not another grip thread:what:
So happy when the last one was aloud to die of natural causes.
And now another one starts:banghead:

Sounds like what is know as "Pushing". A lot of people do it if they dont shoot a lot and are still anticipating the recoil.

You Might want to look into a Storm Lake Compensated Barrel...(It takes most of the snap away..and much better groups than your standard Glock barrel..and You can shoot lead..)

congrats on the g23, that is a good choice, mine has been through many training courses, and many thousands of rds. your issue is trigger control don't worry thought that is the cause of 85% or more missed shots in anyone that shoots a handgun. i suggest that you do alot of dry fire even when you get good, and you aren't "pulling" shots anymore.
