I'm pretty sure I would like my next purchase to be a Glock 26, so I was wondering since this is such a popular pistol if those of you who own or have shot one had any interesting tidbits, info, or stories about your experience with it. Perhaps some pics of target shots or something. Basically, just post it if it has anything to do with the Glock 26/27.

Thanks

26 is a great little gun. I did end up selling it and moved away from Glock for guns that fit my little hands better. But I would not hesitate owning another one down the road.

Small, light weight, easy to carry and to care for. Reliable and accurate with a good round count.

Im looking for a Glock 26 right now also. I am replacing my M&P9c with it. I honestly think that the M&P9c is more comfortable, but I have some larger Glocks that I shoot and I want to stick with the same platform. I have heard some people complain that the 27 is very snappy. I have not shot a 27 to come to this conclusion myself, but my Glock 23 has some snap to hit, so I assume its safe to say that the 27 would have more. Ill probably only carry the 26 for ccw a small amount of the time. Mostly it will be in my truck console, gym bag, or back pack while hiking.

I'm with distra

I have both an M&P 9 and M&P 9c
both are good pistols. Don't get me wrong the glocks you mentioned are both great guns as well but the Smiths just fit my hand better and pointed more easly than the glocks

I would vist a gun shop and handle both pistols to see which fits you better

I have a G26 and love it. Nice small gun that shoots well and is accurate. Glock mags are readily available and if you want higher capacity mags you can use any glock 9mm mag. I have two g19 mags with spacers to take up the gap and it is very comfortable to fire. I do with Glock would make a single stack 9mm, that would be a great carry gun and a huge seller for Glock.

i love my little glock 26. It fits my hand better than my 17; the bump is higher up and that fits my hand perfectly.

I used to ankle carry it until i broke my foot and can't take the weight. Still works well on the belt.

it is accurate!

The only changes i made were to put on big dot night sights.

I had a glock 26 and sold it and last week I bought a 27. I really like it more than the 26. and also can use glock 22 mags.

Several years ago, I was looking for a pistol that would be my everyday gun. After several months of vacillation, I bought a G27; prior to that, I had carried, a S&W Model 60-9, a Colt OACP, CZ Rami, and a Kel-Tec P-11. I liked them all (still have them except the Rami), but none were what I was looking for. The Smith is an old friend, but has limited firepower. The OACP is a favorite, but heavy. The Rami was nice, but still heavy. I like the P-11, but the long, heavy trigger makes longer distance shooting difficult (well at least for me). The G27 proved to be reliable, accurate, and comfortable to carry. I find the cartridge and capacity adequate for my needs (personally, I find the recoil of the .40S&W is not objectionable in the G27). Magazines, holsters and other accessories are readily available for it. If the need should arise, parts are easily replaceable by the user. I'm well pleased with my 27, but that's not to say I haven't tried out other guns as a possible replacement for it (searching for the Holy Grail of carry guns). I've owned a Kel-Tec PF9 (slimmer) and a Glock 30SF (caliber I prefer), but the G27 just worked better for me than them. I've shot XDs and M&Ps in different calibers, but felt neither gives me anything the G27 doesn't already in a proven (to me) platform.

I have owned a G26 for a few years now along with 2 other Glocks. I have also fired almost all of the models in the Glock lineup at one time or another. IMO... I believe that the G26 is the most useful Glock of them all. The 9mm cartridge is perfect for this size package. Plus, you can either carry concealed with 10-12 round mags, or add a G17 mag + a mag sleeve, and you have a full-grip/standard-cap/duty-grade pistol. My G26 has never had a failure of any kind with any ammo, its highly accurate, and it didn't break the bank. My Sig P239 has been sitting in the safe since the 26 came home. If you like the Glock ergos, I highly recommend the G26. You won't regret it.

I carry a G26 90% of the time. Although I am as accurate with the little Glock as with any pistol I've shot, the feel of the short grip, which required me to tuck my pinky finger under the magazine, was something I found a little weird. I've put a Pearce extension on each of my mags and it feels better.

It's typical Glock, in the sense that mine has been 100% reliable. Some just don't like 'em, but Glocks work for me. While the relatively compact size might lead you to believe that accuracy is compromised, I just haven't found that to be the case.

I'll note, though, that some characterize the Glock as a "pocket pistol," a description with which I strongly disagree. I bought a Nemesis pocket holster and found that the G26 was just too wide and heavy to be a reasonable pocket pistol. It might work for some people, but for me it wasn't even a close call. I find, however, that it's very concealable and reasonably comfy if worn in an IWB holster.

Yep...and perhaps even more

Still waiting for any other compact to do this. ;)

I have a G26 and a G19. I generally don't have a preference for either. Both carry well in the Appendix-inside the waistband carry that is my preferred method. I've used both in various classes I've taken. The G26 shot 50yd+ targets as well as the G19 in an advanced defensive handgun class I took.

I generally carry the G26 with the +2 base plates, and only use the flat base 10-round for extreme covert carry.

I recently purchased another Gen II G19. I trimmed the grip to G26 dimensions and have what I feel is the best of both worlds. It is fast becoming my EDC gun.

Who did the trimming of your 19?

The idea of a 2nd gen g19 that has the 26 grip and uses the 26 mags for CCW really gets my tail wagging...

I own a Glock 27 and absolutely love it. While it is true that it is a bit snappier than the 9mm, you get used to it fairly easily. I also feel more confident carrying the .40 S&W round. But the 9mm should not be underestimated. Just go with what you feel more comfortable shooting. Try renting them!

My everyday carry is the Glock 26 . I carry IWB , with no discomfort , no hassle . I have the Crimson Trace laser , nite sights , and a trigger safety on mine . I shoot this pistol weekly with excellent results . Whatever you choose , make sure you practice with it regularly and feel completely comfortable with it . The thing I love about my Glock is - it goes bang every time I ask it to . Everyone has an opinion on the best brand - caliber , and I guess I'm no exception . Good luck and I hope you never have to use whatever you choose in anger .

In lieu of an aftermarket floorplate extension I simply purchased a couple of 12 round factory mags, which have the extension.

But I find that, even though the gun doesn't feel as good in my hand when I'm NOT SHOOTING without the extension, it feels just as good WHEN I AM SHOOTING and I shoot just as well without it.

I use the 12 round mags when I can get away with it and when more concealment is required I go with the flush fit ten rounders.

I have a G27 as my normal carry gun. In colder weather I carry a 23 but summer carry is the 27. Easy to conceal, 10 rounds total, kind of hard to go wrong.

Yeah those look so good, I'd really like to get my hands on one to give it a shot.

And I shoot best with the flush fitting mags in my 27, whether shooting it as a .40 or a 9mm, or with the GAP plates.

I carried a G26 for almost a year before trading it in on a CZ PO1 which is a much better handgun for me. I couldn't get used to the grip angle and lousy trigger....

I did it myself. I've squared up the edges a bit more since taking the pictures. Compared to my other G19 and my G26: HPIM1053.jpg

There are several companies who do it. I'd personally recommend http://www.rosssportinggoods.com/612600.html
