Glock 26 or Glock 27?

I have a 17 when on reserve duty and carry a 26 regularly. I sold my 27- too much of a good thing IMHO and I had the first Glock jams with it I've ever experienced with a Glock (since 1987).

I guess what I am struggling with is whether or not to have my main carry gun in a 9 or 40. My G19 is for HD and for the range (I also shoot in a glock league). I am just not sure. With the 26, it can share ammo with 19 and ammo is cheaper..and the reocil is a bit more manageable....but with the 27 you definelty have more stopping power...:banghead:

get the calliber you shoot best, seals use 9's and are a deadly creatures. accuracy and range time training are going to win the day for you. i like 9, 40 is great, but for the recoil you will deal with i would get a .45

If you want to see how many models you can get in the same caliber then get the G26, and later you can get the G17, G34, and did I hear they made another run of the G17L.

If you want to see how many calibers you can shoot out of one model skip the G27 and get a G29. It is a 10mm slightly larger than the G27, but all you need is conversion barrels to shoot .40 S&W, .357 Sig, and 9x25 (9mm Dillon) all of which where spin-offs of the 10mm.

If you're going to have a Glock on you, then a G27 would be best. That's what I carry. Same size as a G26, but a bigger bore.

Besides you already have a range gun, your 9mm...now you need a battle gun the G27. Also, it's fun round!

I have 2 full size .40s, one a polymer and one not. The polymer is definitely snappier. I've never shot a sub-compact .40, and I know there are a lot out there who love 'em, but for me I'd pick up the 26 - in fact my wife has a 19, and we got her a 26 for the reasons you discussed, plus when you take it to the range you can use your 19 mags. If you want to take the .40 route, definitely start out with a full size model.

Does anyone here have a g19 and a g27? What I am seeing is that anyone with a 17 or 19 who also has a sub, has the 26. I am just wondering because I have been thinking my 19 for target and hd and a 27 for carry because of larger caliber..BUT.....does that make sense?...Not getting the 26 when I have a 19?
