Okay, I swear this is my last question about my future CCW choice.
I've gone back and forth maybe thirty times through a dozen different models. Right now it's on the Smith & Wesson 442 and Glock 26. As much as I love revolvers, especially over the blocky, plastic Glock, I think the G26 would work best with me, being easier to shoot more accurately and firing a slightly more capable round. (Pretty sure 9mm+P is ballistically superior to .38 Spl+P.) The main issue I keep thinking of is being able to hide that wide, square frame. The cylinder of the 442 might be wider than the entire G26, but that part would be tucked under the belt in an IWB holster, and I'd probably use some classic J-frame grips with one of those metal adapters. That would leave a pretty slim, not gun-looking shape sticking up over the belt, rather than a very gun-shaped Glock frame. Those of you whom carry one of either, could you describe how easy it is, with what holsters, etc? I'm also open to other subcompact versions of modern, high-quality auto-loaders. Preferably slightly smoother, slimmer ones. I had the XD in mind, but dislike the grip safety. Thought of the SR9C, but it's a pretty recent design and I'm not sure how much I trust it yet. Not interested in super-compact handguns or anything .380 or smaller, like the Kel Tecs--just seem too small and snappy for me to like.
I know concealment has a lot to do with clothes. In general I wear a light jacket, usually with a dress shirt and tie. But it's Louisiana, so I can only get away with a heavy coat a handful of days per year.
Thanks in advance for the help. I've only ever gotten great responses and suggestions from this forum.
