I am planning on purchasing a G30 SF for every day carry. I 've owned Glocks, XD's, etc. and shoot a lot. I like the sig 220 carry and HK45 C very much, but can't justify the price difference for a CCW that won't do anything that a glock or XD won't do. Just looking for some thoughts, suggestions, etc before I lay down the $. Any input on how the G30 carries and holster suggestions is welcomed as well.

I carry a standard G30. I usually carry at 5:00, and I don't like to carry IWB. I started with a Galco concealable carry holster and it worked well

But I recently switched to a Jak slide holster, which carries better

I got the best deals for the holsters at optics planet. Make sure you get a good gun belt, I have two different Galco belts:

If you are carrying IWB or with the Jak holster, make sure you get a belt that is a little longer than what you would normally wear.

The G30sf is my daily carry for the most part. I rotate holsters depending on where I need to go. Either a Galco Royal Guard IWB or a Barber Leatherworks IWB. The Barber makes the gun sit lower on my waist line and is what I use if I really want to go concealed. The Galco is my "need to run an errand" holster as it is easier to slip on and off. The gun rides a bit higher and occassionally tends to lean away from your body.

I carry between 4-5 oclock.

The only other thing is the G30 does not like a full 10 rounds in the mag. I guess I need to spend more time working the mags in to get the springs softened up, but I don't have a problem carrying 9+1 as its still more than my 1911 ;0)

I tried carrying my G30sf, but found too heavy for everyday use and too hard to conceal in humid FL unless you carry IWB, which I do not. I now keep my 30sf in my truck at all times and carry my Kahr PM9. While I like the 45 ACP caliber better, I love the weight of the Kahr PM9 vs the SF30 for daily carry, and keep the 30sf within easy reach in my truck's center console.

I carry a G30 in A Supertuck. Conceals wll with maximum cant. I have had no problems getting 10 rounds in my mags, I bought a 9 round mag no problems loading that. Get a maglula loader. Makes it very easy.

For HD I use G21 mags with A & G spacers. Basically a G21 with slightly reduced muzzle velocity.

I have my G29 set up the same way
