I bought my G30SF today and I took it to the range and put 80 rounds through it.
The Glock30SF was brand new test fired in Sept 2010 with the new model number trigger bar (-1-)

What was happening was strange.

So about 4 times while shooting 80 rounds in test firing I was seeing the slide move back into battery when releasing the trigger after the shot as if the release of the trigger was moving the slide back into battery.

I was shooting from trigger reset almost every time, At first I thought the slide just felt sluggish the first couple of times it happened but then I noticed the next time it happened when i was releasing the trigger feeling for the reset the slide was moving back into battery a 1/4 to maybe 1/8 of an inch....

I brought it back to glock inc today and they told me they could not get it to repeat issue and the tech did shoot from reset about 20 shot..
Anyone experienced this? is it just "break in" ???

weak recoil spring?

Hi,

It might be that you have an out of spec recoil spring. (educated guess here) that is allowing the firing pin spring to pull the slide out of battery when you pull the trigger. (or in your case - let the slide go back into battery when the trigger is released) I know that this happens to people that mod their Glocks for competition use and put super low weight recoil springs in their guns - they have to change the firing pin spring as well...

Just an idea from left field, but, as cheap as recoil spring assemblies are - it might be worth looking at.

Thanks,
Jamie

I am seeing a groove being cut into my trigger bar as well now...after 80 rounds :fire: I should have listen to my gut...
I am going to ask smyrna to replace my glock 30sf either with another 30sf or a 21sf
