While practicing emergency reloads with my Glock 19 today I had an odd reset problem a few times. I shot until slide lock and performed an emergency reload but when the slide went forward (while chambering a round every time) the trigger did not reset. There were no other reset problems - only when chambering a new round from slide lock.

This is a gen 4 19 with somewhere around 6k rounds down range. I have a ghost connector in the gun (for the last 2500 rounds or so). Everything else is factory.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

Are you using the slide lock (button)to release the slide, or racking the slide fully open to release the locked open slide?

I have been having trigger reset problems in my glock 19 (gen 3) too, I disassembled the slide and got all the gunk out. That seems to have done the trick for now, but I am sure it will reoccur. I have probably 20,000 rounds through that glock and replaced all the springs at about 15k.

The trigger spring isn't functioning. Either it's broken or it came loose on one end or the other due to being installed in the incorrect orientation.

The trigger will reset if the trigger is held to the rear when the slide is cycled, even if there's no trigger spring in the gun. But if the trigger isn't held to the rear during the entire slide cycle then the trigger won't reset if the trigger spring isn't doing its job.

I can't think of a reason why cleaning the slide would have corrected a trigger reset problem.

I experienced the same problem at around 16k rounds. Recoil would sometimes reset the trigger but most times would not. Get another trigger spring. They're only about $2.

I ordered a new spring a couple of days ago. Lets hope that's the answer.

It surprised me too. Disassembled and cleaned the lower, without success. However, it started working again when I cleaned up the slide. I think it is probably something with the firing pin safety not moving properly and getting in the way of the reset - but this is just a guess.
