Normally I'd post at the shrine to all things glock, but 1) I'm at work, and 2) quality of responses seem to be better here.
So i was thinking, "Hey, what would happen?" Obviously the barrel would need changed, but is the G36 barrel different from a standard glock barrel (like the 29). The other concern would be the magazines. I know for my Colt delta elite, I've been using standard ol' Wilson 47D's with no jams/flaws in over 1000 rounds. Does anyone who owns a G36 also own any 10mm that could load a mag and see if they fit?
Might be an *interesting* project...

LOL, OK I'll bite.

But, even if this were possible, do you really want to switch from expensive .45 ACP ammo to even more expensive 10mm ammo?

I love my G36 just the way it is! :p

You'd have to change the entire slide. A .45 slide would not extract 10mm cases (at least not reliably), and I doubt the barrel OD would be the same anyway. By the time you are into it that far, you might as well have bought a G29.

Over at Glock Talk somebody changed a 45 longslide to a 10mm and said it could be done to the 21. Off the top of my head on a Glock 45 all you have to change is the barrel, KKM will make a 45 barrel with a 10mm dia. no problem. Next you have to change the LCI extractor to a 10mm specific. Then probobley the recoil spring, and then the tricky part of it all the magazine. If there was a way to change to the lips easily on a glock mag, or just thought of it a single stack G36 might take a 1911 10mm mag with minor mod. and of course a good gunsmith will probobly have to shorten the mag for you. This is just off the top of my head like I said look at Glock Talk and search for Colorado Glocker for info.
